Hello,
Don't be afraid of the needle. Also you should know where you will be injecting, if in the glutes you should be using a needle with a length of 1,5 inches, if in the quadriceps, or shoulders you should be using a 1 inch needle.
Most people use needles with 21g for the glutes, and 23g for shoulders and quadriceps. But honestly, all the information I have given you just now could have been very easily found on this forum, and you should have known this before even buying gear. Don't wan't to preach or anything just giving you my(possibly wrong) opinion.
Anyway hope I helped and keep on reading, this site is the best database of gear relevated(sp?) information.

IMO it sounds like your not ready to begin your cycle. There is no way to not fill the initial poke. Just take it like a man. Any way If you shooting your glute i would go with 22 or 23 gauge 1 1/2 inch needle. Any other body part 22 or 23 gauge 1 inch needle is perfect, unless you have a high BF.

BTW, since you are new how about givin us your STATS? Age, height, weight, yrs liftin natural, prior cycles, goals here, etc.....

I was needle phobic too. I hate needles, always did. I almost passed out the first time I gave myself a shot, no friend to do it for me. Basically, I'm a wimp when it comes to needles. I found the shot to be painless and relatively quick. If you decide to do it yourself, my experience is that glute shots are too difficult to negotiate, akward and hard to apertate. The quad is easy and so far, knock on wood, painless. Use a 25 gauge, 1inch, on the quad. Inject a little more than one hand's length up from the knee, in the meat of the thight, on the side. Good luck!

Dude I hear ya on the needles thing, I can personally tell you that when I did my blood draws before I went on cycle I told the nurse to not let me see the needle or I would slug her. Of course we both laughed but I was serious.
I Use a 20g 1" needle to draw the syringe for filling. I then inject with a 21g 1-1/2" I inject into my glutes.
If you are right handed inject in the upper right area of the right Glute 3 - 4 inches below waistline. Obviously if your left handed inject in the upper left area.
The very first time I injected a week ago today and I felt nothing; not even any blood. Today ionly a singlel blood droplet, but still no pain.
Good luck!
