    Female question: Topical testosterone

Saw my plastic surgeon today and he suggested that there are numerous benefits of testosterone for women including skin improvements, increased libido, fat burning, and general anti-aging effects. My boyfriend gets an oil based testosterone through a UGL. I don't want to inject it but would like to use it topically for cutaneous absorption through the skin (maybe rubbing it on shoulder or arm). Does anyone have experience with this?

The absorption from a topically applied oil-based testosterone will be next to nil.

Even if some DID absorb... You'd be unable to efficiently gauge how much

You'd be better off with a 'androgel' for that purpose

The dosing would be more specific

I wouldn't advise this however because there is always the risk of virilisation when women experiment with test.

You'd be better off with a less androgenic substance tho.

    Maybe anavar.

Exactly! What are your stats and how long have you been working out? What is your ultimate goal. Judging by your ass, excuse my french, but very nice! looks like you really dont need much! To be more helpfull we need to see your whole figure front and back to make a more better determination. My advice to you for now is a good diet (South Beach Diet, purchase at your local book store) and exercise and a lot of cardio work-outs.

    stats

OK, here's the stats: 33 yrs old, in gym for a long time but intensly for past 1 year, love lifting but also emphasize cardio (do 4 miles on regular basis). My boyfriend seems to think I put on muscle very quickly (I agree). I'm 5'1'', 110lbs, very lean and seem to be very strong for my size. In fact, playing around in gym w/bf and benched 140lbs twice. My diet is very clean and I feel my weight is primarily muscle. Hopefully seen from attached picture.

The reason I posted this is not from an anabolic standpoint but more from an anti-aging approach. Once again, it was my plastic surgeon (hint hint) that suggested the benefits of testosterone in low doses for women. He even described testosterone as a "fountain of youth" for men and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with what he says.

Well you are one ripped lady !!. No doubt it is the fountain of youth for men. I am 51 and lifting more and looking 10 times better than I did when I was 30. I will be on Test until I die there is no doubt. I think if I was you I would do some serious research on female anti ageing via google before I jumped into Test. The virilization that Nark spoke off can be quite serious in women, and believe me you do not want to go down that path because its irreversable. There may be others here that have more knowledge on this than me so standby. Some of the Vets may have more info. Good luck with your search.

Thank you for the replies. I surely wouldn't want irreversible virilization. Will definitely research but am still open to others experience with this topic.

BTW...noticed 345 viewing on the anabolic forum and zero on the female forum...is this typical?

Definately HGH.. but testosterone too can been of use from the anto-aging aspect.. It exerts positive changes in females

I think an analogue/derivative would be better tho... The less adrogenic the better

Read up m'lady.. there's a wealth of info on AR.

And i must say that condition you hold in your pic is impressive to say the least

    This is my "little girl"

Thanks everybody for the straight forward answers even though your first couple of replies came from the wrong head. I wonder why her Doc suggested test in low dose to help in anti aging remedies. I was there in the room when he said it and he really had great things to say about testosterone and how it makes you feel and look.He may have meant in more of a global statment rather than a gender specific statment.

Sorry about the comment bro !!!! I wonder whether he really knew what he was talking about at all because Test and women are not a great combination. This is the very first thing I found when I did a search on Testosterone and Females There is tons of research on the web about this

    Testosterone

Testosterone is the most important of the male sex hormones. It is responsible for stimulating bone and muscle growth, and sexual development. It is produced by the testes and in very small amounts by the ovaries. Most testosterone tests measure total testosterone.

Testosterone stimulates sperm production (spermatogenesis), and influences the development of male secondary sex characteristics. Overproduction of testosterone caused by testicular, adrenal, or pituitary tumors in the young male may result in precocious puberty.

Overproduction of testosterone in females, caused by ovarian and adrenal tumors, can result in masculinization, the symptoms of which include cessation of the menstrual cycle (amenorrhea) and excessive growth of body hair (hirsutism).

If you've seen female bodybuilders you know what test can turn you into. Is that what you want to look like or sound like? Or anywhere near? My $0.02

Are you quite SURE you are not confusing Growth Hormones with Steroids? At your age HGH anti-ageing effects would be so minimal even an Onasis wouldn't waste the dough. HOWEVER, testosterone cremes (Androgel, Testim, etc.) which are used to help very old and/or very sick males recover SOME of their depleted test production WILL tend to tighten up skin (as does testosterone in general - any BB boy can tell you the skin thickens) but not significantly. Wether this makes it feel softer/younger? BTW, as an elderly, sick male I used both: at @$500/month they were a waste of $> not even helpful to even out between shoots. Testim is oilier, Andro more alcohol based. Neither effected my skin, or musculature. If you have the $, try it: they DID absolutely nothing for me. AND, I used a bit more than suggested (go figure)...G'luck.
