A friend of mine owns a Pharm and he had loads of out of date stuff which i purchased, he told me they still have a shelf life of another 18months for expirey, heard this from afew other sources aswell,

ive used them with no problems but if it worrys you just buy in date stuff.

I too have heard this, namely the expiration date is the (sell by), whereas the shelflife is significantly longer as stated by marcus (about a year and half).

It doesn't go bad but starts to lose its potency over time. Just expiring products like that will not be a problem. Just make sure it's been stored in proper temp. I had a friend store stuff in his attic for 2 years then wanted to take it.
