    Natural thyroid w/T3

Hey guys just want to know what you think of self medicating with Armour thyroid meds.

I was prescribed 100mcg from doctor and felt better after a few days.So of course I increased the dosage to 2 pills and at 200mcg the fat was melting off like crazy but I was looking a bit bugeyed and felt jittery all the time.Went back to 100mcg and stayed there till next doctor visit.

Doctor, after next visit, reduced dosage down to 88mcg even after I told her about my little experiment of doubling dosage and feeling way more energetic. She seems to be by the numbers only and got a bit mad that I would question her.She also wouldnt change my meds to a natural form of thyroid like Armour that has T4 and T3 combined. So I dumped her ass.

Ok so I went ahead and ordered some Armour and am taking at Synthroid level-150mcg per day converted to Armour is 90mg.I feel better and I have no excessive thyroid overdose symptoms.I just feel normal.

Is this a dumb move on my part?I read on thyroid forums that a really good endocrinologist will prescribe Armour and just increase until the patient feels well and overlook the normal test scores.I am just a bit worried though and hope I am not doing myself harm over time.

I do see how people use T3 to cut up and read that pro BB use like 300mg T3 per day Do they stay on this amount yearly,if no,then why not?

    Thanks for any help!

i dont think youll get really big health issues with that dose, youll have an increased metabollysm not like witht hyperthyroidism nor like a normal person IMO, dont go over 150 of T4 nor over 90 of armour, but i would up the protein and the calcium to prevent catabolism and decalcification, (dont take the calcium at the same time you take theT4)

    Wow,thanks for the info.

Calcium is not even a nutrient that I consider at all.I am hispanic and so I dont feel we have any major calcium issues that caucasians and asians have.I have never broken a bone or ever had a cavity even with years of never brushing and drinking tons of soda.Whats crazy and I dont know if its related but when I went in for 20 stiches in my leg the nurse couldnt get the needle thru my skin.A 10 year doctor vet then tried and had to go to smallest needle and still he had a hard time. When I aksed him why that was he just said some people just have tough skin

My two doctors who both put me on synthroid never ever mentioned anything about calcium supplements.I dont see how these doctors we go to even are allowed to practice. My last doctor ridiculed me like a little kid about the fact that I can go against modern medicine.Fvck her!!!! Sorry

I have read up after reading your tip on decalcification.People on armour seem to not need to take calcium supplements.Something to do with the fact that there is alot more stuff in natural thyroid than just T3 or T4 and most doctors consider this stuff inert and dont know why they are there or what they really do.Well maybe it prevents the decalcification issues that just taking synthroid causes.

I also read that injesting calcium while thyroid meds causes less of the med to be absorbed.I will now take my meds right upon awakening and wait 45 minutes before I eat my meal to allow total absorption.

    Thanks for the tips.

    Hehe dang Angelus

Nose bleeds arent sounding too good I also take hypertension meds and have read that thyroid meds can increase blood pressure.I am gonna get a good quality BP meter and start taking readings daily, then I can play with my BP meds if need be.

I am glad for mail order meds!!!While I will never do roids I will supplement my hormones that are naturally low.Hmmm I never even had my Testosterone checked Nah I dont wanna mess with that stuff and then the rest of the stuff to balance the body back to normal.

    Thanks for the help!
