as far as benadryl, diphenhydramine hcl is what you're actually looking for. it's the active ingredient in benadryl, but you can also find it for much cheaper in other allergy and sleep-aid medicines. i get the equate brand for less than 1/8th the cost of the same amount from benadryl.
i personally use my diphen for occasional insomnia, and have never used it to refresh the beta-2 receptors. however, as far as how effective it actually is seems very controversial. some people say it didn't do anything and the clens effectiveness continued to diminish despite using the diphen, while others swear by how great it works. have to see for yourself if it will work for you.
one thing that does seem to unquestionably work is ketotifen. if you find the right research labs, you can even find clen in combo with keto, though from what i've seen, keto is quite pricey and not sure if it's worth it. personally, i'd rather give my heart the break from the clen with the 2 week on, 2 week off method when using clen.
