Chance it might be an abcess forming. I had one once that was so bad I had to have surgery to remove it. Main thing to do is watch to see if the skin is hot to the touch and later on if it goes for awhile you will get a fever with flu like symptoms. It is nothing to fool around with. If its not an abcess it should clear up within a week. If it starts getting worse, look for the symptoms.Originally Posted by juiceman666
is there anything you didnt do that i could do to avoid surgery and keep this from getting worse
Yes. The stupid thing I did was wait a long time, thinking it was going to clear up on its own. If the skin gets to where it feels hot when you touch it and it keeps getting worse, I would see a doctor. If you wait until the fever sets in, it might be too late. I waited until I got the fever, and then I knew for sure it as an abcess. Thing is, if you wait that long you might have to go under the knife like I had to. If you see the doc, they initially just prescribe antibiotics for you and if you were like me and had a bad case they might give some antibiotics by injection or IV.Originally Posted by juiceman666
thanks for the advice id like to pass on going under the knife and ima just get some antibiotics is there a certain one i should ask for
how often are you shooting each site, and your using prop, in my experiance i ALWAYS get sore lumps when i shoot with prop if i dont cut with oil. It takes a week to clear
the thing is its not at the injection site its about 2 inches down
i shoot each shoulder at most once every 4 days and that rare usually once every 6
I am not sure on what is best to be used, its been years since I had mine treated and I forget what they used. It would probably need to be a broad spectrum antibiotic. If it looks like you have an abcess, youll just have to bite the bullet and see a doc. I went to an urgent care place so that my primary doc didnt know about it. I made up a story how my abcess appeared. People do get abcesses naturally. My wife got one around her fingernail that was bad enough she had to go in for IV antibiotic. See a doctor and let them take care of it.Originally Posted by juiceman666
I would wait some more though to see if it starts to clear up. Sometimes you get the symptoms you have because of the gear you are using. Some of that stuff has a lot of BA in it that can cause that. Ive had injections look like yours and clear up on their own.
yeah, that happens to me a lot too. It seems like the oil travels down with the pull of gravity. It is moving down that compartment of muscle, but will stop eventually once it hits some fascia.Originally Posted by juiceman666
Just remembered the antibiotic I took, it was augmentin. I believe there are genrics out there now.
ok cool should i wait a week for antibiotics or start now
Well, you never mentioned if the skin there on your arm is hot. If it is hot now I would go in asap. If it doesnt feel any hotter than the rest of your arm I would wait to see if it goes down. Applying heat, like a heating pad, is supposed to help reduce the swelling and speed up the process. I had a similar reaction to yours in my leg a few months ago and the heat didnt work, but you should try it. That leg of mine btw took almost 2 weeks to return to normal and it wasnt an abcess.Originally Posted by juiceman666
I have the same thing from shooting prop. I beleive that the BA in the prop will actually cause a heat sensation for a day or so after your injection. I shot my right delt on Saturday morning and I'm sitting here looking at the same red rash you are. Mind you I'm shooting 150mgs into the delt, that may have something to do with the heat and soreness.
is it just red or is it bruising.
i made a bad batch of prop one day and everytime i shot it it would get red the next day. if i worked that muscle out it would turn into bruise really nasty. i don't know if it was because it had a high concentration or there may have been some methanol left in the powder. i had to throw it away. i do test suspension everyday and everyday my arm or leg get really red especially if i work out that day. i use 3cc's everyday so i think my muscle can't really handle that much suspension. i wouldn't worry yet. if you get fever or golf ball size growth then i would take to next level.
Mines just red, I'm not gonna freak until I get major swelling or bruising.
mine does that every once in a while, and has never been an abcess. I wouldn't freak out.
you may be having an allergic reaction to the kind of oil used. take an anti-biotic, if that doesnt help you know you having a reaction.
Yeah I had the same thing in my left arm last week and it cleared up. I'm not gonna worry about it. Probably just a reaction. I have been shooting rather quickly only 30 to 45 seconds for 1.5cc.
go to the doc or try to find some augmenton or keflex somewhere. Both are antibiotics used to treat infections like cellulitus.
do i def need those or should i see if it goes away on its own?
Just keep an eye on it and see what happens.
ok thanks
It looks exactly like my outer thigh. I just got back from the doc about fifteen minutes ago. You will find that your doctor will be pretty cool about everything, if you are up front about it. He said it was infected and prescribed me two different kinds of antibiotics. Supposed to start getting better within the next day or two. Get that shiznit squared away quickly, so that you don't get yourself into a real jam!
this is going to sound foolish, but it might help you. The last infection that I had, I went to the fish store and picked up some Tetracyclene. They are 500 mg tabs that are meant to be dissolved in the aquarium water to sanitize it, but it's an antibiotic that you can safely take and will help fight the infection. I took 1000mg/day for 5 or 6 days and it became better
calm down everybody sheeeeeshit doesn't look that red or bad at all, give it a day or two
i had same problem bro, i shut in my quad and next day my knee and below knee (entire front side of leg) swelled up, it seemed what gear was traveling down the skin, it was red and little hot to touch, and didn't have fever at all, it went away after a week, just give time if you start getting fever and skin getting darker color like purple or like dark bluesh color then see doc asap, next time make sure you shoot in muscle and stick 1 inch pin all the way down, i thing you get swelling because you not going deep enough or you missing the muscle,( i usually flex my delts prior delts shut to see where is my most muscle mass and thats where i shoot) works fine no pain and swelling at all, good luck bro
i've had that before dont know why but it does go after a few days
true got it from tren in my shoulders never used prop (yet) but im sure both of them being short esters has something to with it dont stress.. mine felth inflated and the skin got tight and the soreness spread across the arm i thoguht it was an infection but it happened a lot of times and went away every timeOriginally Posted by sbeast007
i mean it always could be infection but i doubt it that looks way too farmiliar
stick to oral only cycles from now on
no that part was a joke
is it warm to the touch?? puffy?? stop shootin there 1stly....
no offense but your arm doesn't look big enough to inject in yet
15.5 inches isnt big enough? the pic might be misleading i do shoulder injects im not that small ha i put up 320
How is the arm looking now, getting better?
is this your 1st cycle? cause it'll be sore, get red, get warm the muscle has to get used to being poked...prop is painful to some people even cyp can be to some people...wait a few days sometimes it'll start to be more noticable to some like a day or 2 after the injection..it'll go away
now after a week if it starts to get bigger more painful..and when they say hot to the touch they mean HOT!! cause after injecting i get warm theres a huge difference between the 2..dont worry bro it looks normal
well u should put better pics up because it's very hard to see what your body is like when you only show part of one arm. no offense but i see no definition in your arm - it's just straight down. this means that there is much bodyfat in your arm. thus, your muscles may only be 14in if you lost the fat. therefore, I really think it's not wise to inject because you would be more likely to hit a vein, artery, nerves, or bone. If alternating glute shots is not good enough for you, then delts should be okay - but if your legs are nice then you should be able to go in your quads just fine.Originally Posted by juiceman666

That looks like a cellulitis there Juiceman. Cellulitis is not an abscess, but an inflammation/infection of the skin, likely caused by the needle not being sterile or failure to properly sterilize the skin in the area of the injection (i.e. skin bacteria get brought in with the needle and cause an infection). This differs from an abscess in that there is no localized pus collection. The later (an abscess) can (and usually does) require a drainage procedure to effectively treat.Originally Posted by juiceman666
You should outline the area with a marker and start a by mouth antibiotic immediately (Keflex 500mg 4x/day is the standard initial therapy). If it gets larger, you need to seek immediate attention as you may need IV antibiotics.
Jerol (surgeon, btw... I take care of this stuff for a living, if that makes you feel any better).![]()
He is absolutely right. When I had my abcess it started out as the cellulitis and then turned into the abcess. Jerol, would most cases of cellulitis eventually turn into abcesses if not treated?Originally Posted by jerol
same thing happened to me, first redness and minor discomfort - then absess the size of a golfball! I am a very healthy person so all I did was massage it everyday and it went away after about a week
if its totally gone now can i avoid tkaing antibiotics?
