Acne getting worse before it gets better?
My acne is getting worse and I've been on antibiotics for 4-6 weeks now. I use Lymecyline which is a derivative of Tetracyline at 300mg/ED. I have acne on my chest/shoulders/back which is getting worse by the day. My skin is a lot dryer now and when spots appear, they last 3-4 days then dry up. But...They keep coming. I know Accutane (Isotretinoin) treatment states, acne may get worse, before it improves, but is this the case with antiboitics too?
I have enough antiboitics to run for life as my doctor will provide it. Though, I have 150 20mg tabs of Accuatne from Spain.
Shall I keep with the antiboitics or go for the Accutane at 40mg/ED?
Does your sking just dry up on Accutane the same it will antibiotics?

Man I think I would go ahead and switch to the acutane...If you have been on tetrcycline for 4 plus weeks and thats not helping I think it is time to try a new method....
When I used acutane I was a kid about 16 I think and it knocked the problem out in about 4 to 6 weeks...The main sides that I got were dry skin my hands were the worst they actualy started to peel...But after the treatment my acne was gone and has never realy come back accept a little bit when in pct...
I dont reameber how long I was actualy on the acutane but it seems like it was somewhere around 3 months....

My skin has begun to dry up a lot, so...The antiboitics are working. I;m going to ring my GP tomorrow and ask if the acne getting worse before it gets better is a side effect with antiboitics...
