    Taking the plunge... at 44...opinions?

    Stats:

    44 years old
    190 lbs
    6'3"
    9% bf

Lifting experience: 25 years. Less in the last 5 years because of herniated cervical discs (asymptomatic for 2 years now).

    Previous cycles: none

Goal: 10-15 lbs of lean mass -- most of which I hope to keep.

    Proposed cycle:

Test cyp 200mg every 4 days x 11 weeks (works out to 2 vials, that's why the odd number)
    Proviron 50mg -- divided doses (25mg AM/PM) -- weeks 2-13
HCG 250-500 iu (not sure of the dose) every 4 days SQ -- weeks 2-13
    AIFM 1 squirt ed
(Nolvadex/Arimdex in reserve should I develop gyno symptoms)

PCT: (18 days after last shot)

Nolvadex 40mg ed x1 week, then 20mg ed x3 weeks
    Aromasin 20mg ed x4 weeks
(I have clomid, but am frankly a bit scared of its sides)

I have baseline lab work and will get more lab work done after PCT, but my baseline testosterone is 600 -- about average for my age.

    Questions:

    Appropriate cycle? PCT?
Should Proviron dose be divided or taken all at once?
HCG dosing: 250 or 500 iu?
HCG question: How long after mixing the 5000 iu vial is it still useful assuming its refrigerated?

I also have Lr3 IGF-1 and MGF which I was considering using during PCT for the 4 week run:

Lr3 IGF-1 40 mcg immediately pwo IM divided into 20mcg shots into the muscle worked 4x/week (EOD)
MGF 100 mcg 5x/week divided into 50mcg shots 12 hrs pre-workout into the muscle to be worked.

(I'm still not committed to the IGF/MGF use.)

Please give me brutally honest opinions and any changes you would suggest.

    Many thanks,

    Jerol

Your cycle looks good. Are you doing it through a HRT program? If not, I'd definately look into it.

    Hey Bro,
I totally agree with cf's post, nottrying to be a parrot but I'm similar to you, just got off my first cycle and looking and HRT....I really wish I would have gotten on the HRT before my cycle. But it is what it is....I think you should blood test etc. before and find out just where you're at then go from there....you could get your gear per prescription and write it off to insurance.

    Thank you for the input.

I am a physician ... so the prescription/cost issues aren't that important to me. But the quality of the gear is... so I will look into it.

    Thanks again,

    Thanks, LPR

    I'm a surgeon, btw.

I've been interested in trying a cycle for about the last 10 years (it seems like, anyway). Nagging injuries have really hampered me, but for the last 9 months I've been able to hit it hard and I'm probably in the best shape of my life. This is the first time I've really focused on legs, but they really are slow to grow. That's been the story of my lifting, though. When I started at age 19 I weighed 145 lbs! I put muscle on slowly, but it looks great when it comes in and because of my low bf%, I have heinous striations and vascularity. My problem is mass/thickness. I'm hoping a cycle will help, but I am scared of side effects. My baseline labs (PSA, LFTs, Cholesterol, etc) are all great and I've never been prone to acne or hair loss -- so here goes nothing!

Still, I always think back to Jeff Bridges line in "The Contender" when he has a would-be candidate for the vice presidency arrested for negligent homicide: "Who doesn't want a shortcut to greatness?"...
