finasteride, nizoral, spirolactone, nioxin products are great...saw palmetto won't do a thing.

dont use nizoral 2% or 1% more than twice a week, mix some t-sal in between, and not bad idea to use saw palmetto 360mg extract ed.as for finastride i didnt like using it at all, felt like crap on it, not to mention your supposed to use it forever. I know guys just use it for cycles but im not so sure on that.dutasteride is supposed to be the strongest but i never tryed it.A good vitamin for hair definatly helps,i used one from gnc ultra nourishhair hair grew faster works good ,do a little homework .hope this helped you -good luck Razor last resort unless you gotta a good shaped head!

Well, the idea behind finasteride and dutasteride is that it blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT. DHT is predominantly responsible for hairloss, although compounds which are very androgenic (like tren , for example) can produce hairloss without converting to DHT. In those cases, finasteride and dutasteride are useless in treating hairloss.
If one suffers from hairloss ordinarily and they are not taking hormones, then yes, it would be wise to use finasteride indefinitely. However, someone who does not experience ordinary hairloss and who is "on cycle" can use finasteride or dutasteride to help stop the conversion of exogenous test to dht and thereby prevent or minimize hairloss. Once the cycle is stopped or completed, the finasteride or dutasteride is no longer necessary because it was only being used to control the hairloss resultant from the exogenous test and was not needed ordinarily.
Keep in mind though, that dutasteride is stronger than finasteride and dutasteride is successful in blocking 90% of the test to dht conversion. However, 10% is NOT blocked and depending on the dosage of test you're taking, that 10% that isn't blocked, could be 100% more than what would ordinarily be converted if you weren't on test. Therefore, the dutasteride really wouldn't be doing much.

Or..instead of blocking DHT systematically you could block it topically at the scalp with azalaic acid and spiro like the others said. Minoxidil will also stimulate the follices..however poorly at the front of the hairline in my experience
