delt injection: blood when asp - vein/artery?

hello i just injected into my left delt. 1st time injecting there.

however at the 1st attempt, i aspirated to find blood in syringe. this is the first time this has happened. im not sure if i hit a vein or artery. when i took the needle out, there was no blood spurting about. however it seemed a diff colour bright red compared to normal blood from cuts, grazes, removing needle after normal injection etc. im not sure if there is a problem here

i injected at second attempt - replacing needle. however it hurts a little now.

If you threaded an artery the syringe will probaly fill with blood with out you even haveing to aspirate they have a lot of presure flowing thru them....

I am going to suggest that you probably did knick a vein, possibly passing right through a small one. If you are not in a vein you should NOT see blood in the syringe. That said, you did the right thing in pulling out and reshooting. You are probably fine. I passed through a vein on a quad inject a few months back; no blood in the aspiration but when I pulled out it spurted. Technically, if you stuck a vein with the tip of the needle you would see some blood during aspiration, but it might be a small hole in the vein or deep enough that it would not spurt and might only cause some discolouration (ie bruising).
