pain and swelling right after injection
Hey guys. I've cycled before and always had some slight redness, warmth, and swelling at the site, but nothing like this. Only a few hours after injection, the site was raisied (like a flat lump). It's been a day and it's spreading a little (about 2in wide), still red, and painful to the touch. Did I maybe not go deep enough? An infection wouldn't appear for a few days, right? Should I start taking some AB I've got here at the house? Thanks.

What did you inject?
Was it sterile?
Did you clean the injection site before injecting?
Did youuse a fresh needle?

Just keep an eye on it for the next few days and see if it gets worse, sometimes they swell if you puncture a vein, also Sus does sometimes give you some swelling/painful, give it a few days see if it gets worse or better.

I aspirated and it checked good. Should I massage or apply warm or cold compresses? I've been alternating all night and taking ibuprofin.
Oh, and about .2 cc drained out after the shot, which is more than usual.
Thanks marcus

HMM...make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before doing anything...you can apply heat and hot compresses and see if some bood hits the area and carries some oil away.keep your eye on it and if it gets any worse...you may want to start antibiotics or see your doc.

Yeah if it hasn't cleared up by Fri, I'm going to the doc. I figure a real infection needs a few days to get going and it may just be a little irritation.
What are the chances it's an abcess already?Last edited by TomBoi; 09-12-2006 at 11:11 PM.

happnes all the time bro with me I find that when i inject near or around a vein, nerve the swelling from the inject can cause a bad irratatition around the inject site that will show in a matter of hours make it sore to the touch and red.... and like said sus is Known to cause swelling So i would give It a few days keep an eye on it take some alive it will help with inflamation use a hot compress and you should be ok

Thanks V
today the redness is mostly gone, still a little warm, but the swelling seems to be subsiding. It would suck to have to quit a cycle b/c of an infection. Hasn't happened yet (fingers crossed)

I feel you man.. I had some mexican Cypio and my swelling was bad. There were a couple of times the swelling went all down my arm and the pain was nuts. Right under the injection site, the area was hard. I was almost ready to go to the doc but it always went down after a few days. I figured I hit a vein or nerve or maybe reacted bad to that specific oil.

Sus was made by O, labels in Spanish. I haven't had problems walking, but if I touch my quad, it hurts. The redness and warmth seems to be going away, but I still feel a lump. Wonder what that is...

So how long before an infection would set in? It's a little red and blotchy and it's not warm anymore, but sore when you touch it (though not as much). It almost seems like it's getting better except for the lump underneath. I've been taking motrin and seem to be past the sust flu.
