Scar Tissue And Leakage
i've been reading about some bro's having gear leak out, and most of the time the culprit is scar tissue. i shoot EOD and only do my quads. so i hit each quad twice a week. as i look at my quad, i dont see any marks to suggest i have injected myself, but i have had blood roll down my leg pretty fast sometimes which leads me to believe that it was gear mixed with the blood.
can someone explain to me what scar tissue is/looks like and how it can affect gear leakage?Last edited by Taurus; 09-27-2006 at 07:01 PM.

well cant really tell you what it looks like, but in my opinion scar tissue is just harder to shoot through. i may be wrong and such. but if i were you id try shoot quads on twice a week and try somewhere else. sometimes blood comes out even after you aspirate cuz u nicked a vein on the way in. sometimes a little bit of gear leaks out with it. best way to avoid it leave the pin in longer.

You're not supposed to hit the same spot in the same week.. Just shoot somewhere else.

- Scar tissue is not externally visible as it's covered by skin layers. An example of external scar tissue would be a callous.
- Extreme internal cases CAN (but not necessarily) be literally hard to inject though, and CAN (depending on severity) make a popping or cutting sound on insertion. Less extreme cases can dispel injected fluid.
- As discussed earlier, dripping blood has nothing to do with scar tissue.
- Gear and blood don't mix that quickly, if both come out you'll see both.
- Site rotation is preferable, but quads are a huge muscle (even on little guys), be sure to space injections if shooting them exclusively. There's plenty of room.
- A longer needle may or may not be appropriate; Z-tracking is also a very effective way to prevent injection loss.
