skin getting thicker?

my girls been giving me my shots, im taking 2 a week, i always get it in my shoulder, i switch shoulders every shot, but recently its getting harder to get the needle puncture the skin, its almost like my skin is getting thicker or somthing, my last shot she tried multiple times on each shoulder and it wouldnt go in so she just shot it in my butt. has this happend to anyone else?
