    Asthma - Questions

    Hi,
I have been reading through existing posts and can not find an answer to this question - Apologies if it has been asked before.

What I would like to know is what affects anabolic steroids have on asthma, good or bad?

I have been using an inhaler containing a form of steroid for as long as I can remember and have recently changed to one containing a corticosteroid. I understand the difference between corticosteroids and anabolic steroids but do they have any adverse affects on each other?

One more question - If I were to attempt to discuss this with my doctor, what are the chances of receiving an honest and accurate answer?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

p.s. I am in the UK if that makes any difference to the last question...

MrC, im no doctor and cant give you decent advice, but i have never heard of aas directly effecting asthma at all,

as to the second part, yes being in the UK does make a difference, its 'legal' to use here, just not legal to sell

I've got asthma and must say that i don't believe that the anabolic steroids (Anabol, Deca, Test, Winny) that I have taken have had any effect on my asthma.
    However, I'm not a doctor.

I believe that training generally has improved my asthma.
The thing that has most helped my asthma it the move to Koh Samui.
The air is cleaner and its not as bloody cold as London.
Oh, and people have windows open and have tiled floors rather than carpets and no hairy animals in the house.

Certain steroids must have some effect as some inhalers are steroid based.

    Good question.

    I Have Astma!!!

    Only good..

When I am ON a cycle I have nerver ever have problems with astma attacs..
    Not even close to one!!.

You deffet astma attacs with hormons in the ordianary way of some astma medic.
And when you are on a cycle.. You have no problem at all.

And i have take with a docktor about this and the doktor told me why and this is way in small words but ther is allways in a risk but it`s enormus little that you get in a astma attac in a cycle.

    with frendly greatnings..

MrC ... I've done 3 cycles and ready to start a 4th. I have asthma and a lung disease called bilateral progressive cystic bronchiectasis. An untreatable lung condition caused by a staph. blood infection that got into my blood stream and lungs. Using steroids has never impacted either of my conditions and may in fact helped them as keeping strong and fit is ecellent for the immune system and warding off pulmonary illnesses.

Ive had asthma since I was 6 years old, no 36 yrs old. Ive been using AAS for years now and they have not had any impact whatsoever on my asthma. The corticosteroids you have in your inhailer act like cortisone and reduce inflamation. Corticosteroids are more catabolic than anabolic. Anabolic steroids build muscle tissue and corticosteroids cause some break down of muscle and water retention. did you ever really get sick with asthma so bad that you had to take prednisone? That stuff will make you swell up with water like a balloon, and when its all over youll lose muscle too.

I have asthma and in fact, clenbuterol, which is a steroid used for cutting and in PCT, is sometimes perscribed to severe asthma patients as it clears the airways. I am not a doctor either but i would never say that AS

I have asthma and last week I took a scoop of N.O. EX and a super creatine tab and three puffs of albuterol and a puff of advair, went to the gym and had a super workout, then a massive headache, thought I had a ruptured blood vessel in my head! I will never do that again. combivent works best for opening my airways during a workout with less side effects, As far as im concerned with steroids and asthma is that most severe ashtmatics are already steroid dependant and although they are cortical steroids, they make me balloon out simular to anabolics but with nasty sides. IMO asthmatics may even have a higher tolerance! This is only my personal opinion, I dont think my doc would agree..

Thank you for the replies. Sounds like I don't have anything to worry about.

I really should make an appointment at the asthma clinic soon (does anyone ever actually go to these?), maybe I will ask for some additional information while I am there.

Anyway.. back to reading the masses of information that I still have to get through. Wish me luck!

    Cheers,

    Chris

I have asthma aswel bro, and I seem to be fine so far. Good you asked though.

Just make sure you do cardio few times a week, as I find when i put on alot of weight during a cycle my chest tightens sometimes, or if my BP is rising.

    Take care.

I have freinds that have asthma and have used clen. They use an albuterol inhaler and said that they never had any problems taking the two together.
