Getting back after broken leg.. help!
broke my leg mid cycle about 8 weeks ago and want to get back on my cycle... would it have any affect on the healing process? i have a rod in my leg now and there is still some swelling... but i can walk just fine and stuff. i think this may even help the recovery process in getting my leg stronger so i can lose the limp and stuff... any advice appreciated.

I would wait personally. You have to work your legs to make your body grow and it will be hard to do a complete routine with a bad leg. Take your time to recover, you can even take this time to try out new exercises for when your healed up.

Definitely wait for full recovery from the leg break before you jump back in the game...Sounds like it was pretty bad if you have a reinforcement rod in your leg now. I assume that leg is going to need some therapy as well for a complete recovery. I have a feeling, once you're recovered, you may not be able to hit the legs as hard as you may have in the past.
No need to jump the gun and do something that may reinjure youself. Running a cycle while you can not properly train is a bad move. Save it for later. I'm sure you have plenty of time ahead of you to make up for lost time, in the mean time you can work the upper body to keep the upper body conditioned while you recover from the injury.
Hope this helps and good luck to you in your recovery,

It's a little late now for the advice to help, but might help further viewers with the same problem.
I suffered a compound fracture less than a month ago and also have a one of the thickest titanium rods available for surgery in the hollow cavity of my tibia. Be forewarned, just because you have a rod in your leg does NOT mean your leg is stronger. The titanium rod is also hollow, for bone marrow to be produced, and may easily bend with trauma while the bone is not healed. Once completely healed, the titanium rod will reinforce the bone, BUT in the event you should suffer massive trauma, as you did before when breaking your leg, the bone will most likely break at its weakest points, the tibial heads (by your knee and ankle). This will cause extensive, complicated damage and require major surgeries with the possibility of multiple pins, screws, plates, and rods. Please wait until the bone is completely healed and the leg is fully functional before returning to a cycle or lifting.
