travelling with gear

What do yall know about flying with gear and associated goodies.
with the new safety restrictions. What do you do?

I have a trip to vegas coming up. I'd be pissed if they seized my stuff.

If I remember right, there is a good way of doing it, i believe its something like putting it in a small bag, wrapping it with newspaper or something put it in a small container in the middle of all your clothes, im sure it wont matter, stuff goes through the mail all the time
