    Blood work and test levels ... question

    I would like to have these checked but what are some special things I need to ask for? I have had my blood done before but I have heard that there are things that they will not check unless u ask.

    Also about the test levels, how do I get this done? Is it checked from my blood or is it a special test and will they do it if I simply ask them? any help is appreciated

    You would want to have liver, kidney functions tested, your hormone levels, cholesterol, lipids these are most important IMO

    You want (minimally) to get a cbc and full endocrine panel. I always get total and free test, as well as LH and FSH done, and I pay special attention to my trilgycerides (which are a problem area for me) as well as my HDL cholesterol (which, again, is a personal problem area- although my total cholesterol is in the 150's). Get your bloodpressure done and keep track of both that and your Hematocrit. Ideally, on a heavy cycle, you would be getting monthly bloodwork...in my case (HRT doses), I get quarterly bloodwork. Lastly, be open with your doctor and tell him what you're up to. He works for you, not the other way around.

    I also get an STD test every time, but hey, that's just me...
