Uhm, 300+ glucose level is very high, get checked out ASAP.

However, make sure you are checking your levels at different times. 300 wouldnt be too uncommon if you checked your levels right after you ate something high in sugar. My blood sugar shoots up to way over 200 after my PWO shake.

Either way, get check RIGHT now before you hurt yourself.

funny historic thought about diabetes. long before modern medicine gave us tests, there was a way that people tested for diabetes-they tasted the urine. a sweet, sugary taste usually indicated diabetes. imagine being the guy that had that job...

I used to have diabetes when i had gigantism(acr*****ly) thats why i still had my test kit to test my sugar level. I am going to see a doctor tomorrow. I decided to stop everything for the time being. I realize there is such thing as steroid induced diabetes but i am hoping it may just be a temporary issue. Three weeks ago my blood sugar was 113 soon after eating. While I had acr*****ly my pancreas was shut down by the high igf1 levels from the super high hgh levels produced by a pituitary tumor. Thanks for your help guys. a c r o m e g a l y

My friend, you need to see a doctor immediatly to have some blood taken. They will need to check your Blood Glucose tolerance. It's a test to see how sensitive your natural insulin is to sugar to determine the severity of diabetes as well as what type. Whether you are IDDM or NIDDM, Insulin dependant diabetes mellitis or Non insulin dependant diabetes mellitis. After that, they can work out a management plan for you and have you see a diabetes educator and diatician.

Even if it is induced by steroids, hyperglicemia needs to be managed and treated as diabetes mellitis. In some cases, Hyperglicemia symptoms can disapear with diet and lyfestyle changes but usually you need to be on insulin or diabex tablets. With a blood sugar level of 300, It's more than likely you have diabetes mellitis.

Went to the doc on the 2nd and my blood sugar was 414. Got on insulin and some pill. Been keeping it around 150-200. Freakin sucks, but ive been there before. Just keeps my diet cleaner i guess.

    ooopps... wrong thread..

but on another note.. can u elaborate a little on ur tumor.. when diagnosed, did u have some symptoms etc etc.. pretty rare condition.. did u notice any good things about high GH levels.. were u lean? im mostly interested in how it was diagnosed and what led the docs to the diagnose..
