Locals Got in caught in Iowa, & Nashville Tenn.

Hey guys just a heads up from my local news paper.

Mason City Men Face Drug Charges
Mason City- Two Mason City men were arrested wednesday on federal charges involving anabolic steroids. Lee J Cobb, 38 and Joseph R Upshaw, 37 were both charged with conspiracy to distribute anabolic steroids, which carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 fine; possession with intent to distribute anabolic steroids, which also carries a possible five years in prison and up to $250,000 fine; and money laundering, which could bring them 20 years in prison and up to a $500,000 fine. The arrests were made by investigators from the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force after an investigation of several months that included execution of two search warrants in Mason City and one in Nashville, Tenn. The Task Force was assisted by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's Department, Mason City Police Department, Iowa Army National Guard, and the Nashville, Tenn. Police Dept. The case will be prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney's Office, northern district. The men were transported by U.S. Marshals to incarceration in Sioux City where they await court appearances., By John Skipper

Iowa has so much Meth, maybe they should focus there attention on that instead!! Also there is 30K people in mason and only 2 gyms and a Y so that probably wiped this area clean. Good thing I outsorce from people I met in the marines!!! Also figured that anyone in Nashville might want the heads up too! Stay low guys.

My cousin was involved in this sting. Remember, where there's smoke, there's fire. This is bigger than it seems.

The weird thing is they never mentioned any other drugs on the news or in the paper, only anabolics. Also, steriods are super low key here, so they had to be outsourcing to other places, because I spent a good 8 months here looking for sources, and couldnt find any. Logan which end of the sting was he in??? And what did he say?

    Pair Busted in Mason City

    Anthony Welsch
    Mason City, IA (KIMT)
    Tuesday, July 18, 2006

Officers in North Iowa have picked up a pair of drug dealers in connection with three different drugs.

The North Iowa Drug Task Force and Mason City Drug Unit arrested two Mason City men; One for dealing meth and another for dealing cocaine and steroids.

"Intelligence information has come on this person before into the task force agency, sometimes it just takes the right piece of information to make the connection and make an arrest," Cerro Gordo County Sheriff Kevin Pals said.

Jacinto Barrientes Jr., a 42 year old was charged with three counts of dealing powder cocaine, along with a count of possessing coke.

He was also arrested on a count of possession of steroids, a misdemeanor.

Sheriff Pals says Barrientes has lived in Mason City his whole life, and has probably been dealing for a while.

"Usually when you find somebody in their 40's and 50's who is arrested for dealing drugs, obviously, they did not just get in the business," Pals said.

Ryan Daniel Gallagher, 26, was also arrested for two counts related to delivering meth.

Pals says a confidential informant helped them bust the two dealers. An informant is different from an undercover agent--- informants work with but technically aren't employed as law officers.

The task force had been tracking Barrientes for months. He's currently being held in Cerro Gordo County Jail on more than $250,000 bond.

My cousin is a narcotics investigator, undercover. He told just told me about this sting, they were nailed because of rec. drugs, they only "dabbled" in steroids.

I would guess there is more $$ in rec drugs. First off, anabolics are pretty much limited to guys - few women want to be like that. Where as I know tons of girls that do coke. If they are selling illegal stuff, they might as well make some money - right? well I guess they got too big. That happened to one of my friends in San Diego. Started growing to much weed and sure enough 1 guy ratted another out, who ratted his source out and it got back to him.

Yeah alot more money in rec drugs, you can take them everyday, not every couple months. You can only buy like 2 times a year.
