making fina- another question

Can someone tell me how to sterilize the final product. Cause on gotfina.com it says to bake at 250 for 15 min then repeat 2 times. Do they mean to bake it in the oven. That seems odd to me. Any replies would be appreciated.

Baking it really won't sterilize the final product from what I understand. You won't be able to get the solution hot enough to kill bacteria without destroying your final product but it will help on cutting down BA content. Using a sterile filter will sterilize the product. By the way they do mean to bake it in the oven.

I belive that 165 degree's actually will kill any bacteria, and I know boiling (212) does kill them all.

Its the solution that kills and keeps it sanitary though, not the heat.

I never use the heat or filters.

I crush the fina
Add in the sanitizing solution to desolve it
Add in the oil

Good enough for me.

Look up some old post on actual substances in the fina, you'll see why.
