I think it is the Benzyl Alcohol used in it. Above 5% is usually painfull.

After. If you are used to jabbing then you've paid your dues as far as a virgin muscle is concerned.

Painful after injecting, shot may be almost entirely painless, only to have intense pain settle in shortly after, and can last for days. To my understanding it has mostly to do with the BA/BB ratio-

Some guys complain that the pain is so severe it brings them to their knees, or that they can't walk. Others say it isn't too bad and they can tolerate it. It typically takes a few days for the pain to clear up, but it can be bad. It is best to inject ed, as opposed to eod and to include as many different sites as possible to let the pain subside and muscles time to chill out. I would suggest at least 6 different rotation sites. Thereby giving almost a week before injecting the same muscles the next time around. It can hurt, but nothing to whine about.

Same here, not too bad. It feels like a bad bruise and some tightness.

The propionate (&phenylprionate) ester(s) is generally an irritant.

Some claim the BA is the culprit.. But prop brews hurt even @ 1% BA.

Incidentally i know of early homebrewers who've made acetate brews with 10% BA with no pain.

AND Benzyl alcohol is actually a local anesthetic. So post-injection pain cannot be associated with it:

Reference: Macht DI. A pharmacological and therapeutic study of benzyl alcohol as a local anesthetic for skin surgery. J Pharmacol Exp Ther 1918;11:263–79.

I did mine at 2% BA and it is still the worst as far as site pain. It's just the Prop itself.

Prop pain can be caused by many factors. Dosage you inject, injection technique, the make up of the compound, the source in which you obtained your prop, etc...

However IMO prop pain is over exaggerated, its not to the point where you need crutches or a wheel chair in order to get from point A to point B.

IMO prop pain again is over exaggerated and parroted by alot of bros who havent even used the compound, but say its a crippling pain, and that they couldnt even walk the next day.

It does have a slight pain, sting to it after injection, but nothing that one cant handle.

Well I have Pharm grade prop and that mother hurts! Last time I hit my quad my leg and knee were swollen for a week. I have a high pain tolerance but it felt like someone smashed my femur with a sledgehammer. Now I'm using grape seed oil and it cut down the pain considerablely

The pain is from the hormone. The other facters are the oil bb and ba. Some people react to ba and get pain from that. But most it comes from the oil. If the prop is made with a thin oil it's going to be much more painfull.

    That's a blanket statement..

Just because you dont' experience much pain doesn't discount others' experiences.

Some people are straight up allergic to the ester.

My best friend got sterile abscesses in response to its administration..each time he shot it.

Gear was clean... The ester however provoked a systemic response probably histamine-related.

Me personally... i can't use it. I swell at the injection spot..straight down the limb.

The oil choice can exacerbate the pain factor as well.

I believe this is where the grade of the carrier comes into question.

non-USP grade ingredients (i believe) contain some fatty acid traces which make it more painful.
