Never hit a bone...don't think you ever should as long as you're using the proper sized pins. Definitely have hit a nerve before. Ouch!!! Like DougFresh said....I was in a considerable amount of pain and uncomfort for about a week. Happens pretty rarely though...

Bone no. Nerve yes. Leaves you very sore with defered pain (pain that's local and non-local).

dougfresh.. if you shoot in your delts wouldnt there be a good chance on hitting your rotator cuff every time?? your rotator cuff is a group of tendons in your shoulder

guys i think everytime i shoot in the tricep i could go through a nerve. i get this redness patch on the bottom of my tricep, and hurts quite alot till like the 4th day.. is there any place in the tricep i shouldt shoot like i should on the top part of the tricep and not on the bottom due to a higher risk of hitting a vein?

Site injections are never 100% safe. Especially in a muscle like the tricep.
When I hit a nerve the syringe shot out of my ass lol

No pain if you hit a bone. No nerves on the bone surface, you wouldn't know if you hit it except you can't poke the pin into it.

How the hell would you hit a bone? The pin would have to be like 2" long + and shot into a small muscle group. I bury 1" in my delts/bi's/ tris all the time and I'm nowhere near the bone. I'll go on record as saying there is no way you could possible hit a bone unless you have no muscle mass and are injecting with very long pins. I've hit a nerve a few times, know it instantly, pull out and move it.

Hitting a bone is painless. I got an arthogram a couple months ago and before I was completely numb they hit my bone a few times, no pain. since there aren't any nerves there I think that makes sense. ONly a 100lb man would be able to hit a bone with a 1 1/2 inch pin....maybe.

Anyone else have opionions on this?

I can't reach around and shoot myself in the delts so I have women do it for me
almost 2 years ago my lady at the time jabbed me in the shoulder and I went DOWN!! It felt like someone ran 10,000 volts through my arms. I'm not sure which is worse though...A severe tren cough or the hitting of a nerve.

for u guys that have hit nerves, where were u shooting??? i was under the impression main areas like medial delts, upper-outer glutes, middle outer quads were best spots to avoid nerves
