want to try new injection site

i have been hearing about this injection site called...well i dont know what its called...some other glute site besides the normal one...like "ventriglu.." something or other, sorry for being so vague, i just dont know what it is...i know where it is...its on your hip but where people say it is, it feels like a bone there...
could someone send me a site maybe, or directions on how to do this (if you can figure out what im talking about haha)
and another thing...for people that have done this site before, is it painful more than others or less? a GOOD place or BAD place for PAINFUL prop injections???
