Charged with possession - need lab

    Hello everyone,

It's been a while since I've been a member of this board and it's great to see that it's stronger than ever. My old username was juiceon, back when this board was anabolicreview and PTJason was around (is he still around?).

Anyway, I've run into some trouble. My now-ex-wife walked into a police station in February, 2006 and handed over a 2 ml vial of deca and a MAYBE 1/3 full 10 cc vial of Winstrol , and told the police they were mine. It was some leftovers from a cycle I had ended at least 6 months earlier. BTW - my ex used deca herself - I used to inject her.

The DA charged me with possession on that little bit of evidence. I've hired an attorney and we have a trial date set and I'm ready to go to trial, but the DA suggested that if I can prove that I am not on steroids , he will drop the charges. I haven't taken anything in almost two years and, in the end, the test would cost me less than having to pay my attorney for trial.

My problem is that I don't know where to go to get a test done. (I live in Chicago.) The drug screen places I've contacted test for hard drugs, but not steroids. Any ideas?

This would get thrown out in any court in america. I can't go to the police and say "So and so gave me these drugs". Unless you have legible fingerprints on the vial, it wouldn't make it past the arraignment.. and even then.. very doubtful.

I had a similar situation except my snake called the cops to my house when I wasn;t there and led them to it.

that is so messed up! this nothing but a headache for you the out come will be good. tell the court you dont have the funds for the test or a lawyer. Ask the court to pay for these and as the evidence is SO WEAK ask for a complete dismissal. I would look into seeing if you can get charges pressed on your ex for false arrest or some type of false charge placed on you after you clear this up. sorry to hear about your trouble stay calm stay focused and this will clear its self up. Never deal with that biatch again.

it is crazy of the cops to think just because she said so that it is yours, if it was reversed and you were the one that went in with the gear they would throw u in jail for possesion

If your attorney hasn't already mentioned this, fire his ass. You can't have possession without actual possession. Other than her word, they have no way of tying you to the gear. Unless you admit that it was yours or they could use this board now that you have admitted it was yours. She was the one in possession of the substances. The only person that can be convicted of possession is her. Your attorney should get this thrown out on summary judgment at the first hearing.

It's easy for me to say don't sweat this cause it's not my ass, but I've seen Kilo's in peoples cars not be possession since they weren't in the car with it.

all they have is her word and she obviuosly has motives (she doesnt like you for whatever reason). I would get a good attorney and go for the "my ex hates me and will do anthing to get at me -shes crazy" type angle.
Also remember you are innocent until PROVEN guilty. So tell them if they want to prove that you were taking the gear then they should get the tests done. Im suprised they have not asked you too already.

Oh and after you beat this, tell her your are going to get her for trespassing and theft for stealing your gear. That will light a fire under her ass.

Thanks for the support. I agree with all of you. I suppose a big factor in all this is that the county DA has nothing better to do. How could anyone really believe that a jury of 12 would all agree that it is beyond a reasonable doubt that the steroids are mine because she says so?

Here are more facts: She also brought in clomid and anastrozole. She never discussed these with the police. I was thinking of arguing that she hid the steroids with her non-prescription pregnancy and breast cancer drugs, and in her rage didn't think to separate them. I just wonder if the DA is knowledgable enough to know what we know about clomid and anastrozole.

Anyway, I think it would be less expensive if I just brought in clean lab results. I've been calling around and all I've come up with so far is Quest Diagnostics, but their office is closed until Monday so I don't know for sure if they test for steroids.

You may come back with a clean lab result, but does your attorney say that will get you off? Not using now does not equal no possession. Is this a misdemeanor or felony? A felony would have to go in front of a grand jury for you to be indicted. They can arrest you, but the grand jury would have to find enough evidence to charge you. However, a ham sandwich can get and indictment from the grand jury if it has any evidence. If it is a misdemeanor, depending on your jurisdiction, you may not get a jury trial. It may be only in front of the judge. Ask your attorney if he thinks the lab result will get you off and if he thinks they have any evidence to link you the gear. No need to waste your time and money if he thinks it won't help and you will get off anyway.

Lol what a joke. How can they prove it is yours besides her word? I guess they could finger print the vial..but i mean

I think simply denying it this would not get far.

Clean house..clear your harddrive etc and you should be fine. Even that probably isnt necessary. They have NOTHING to go against here. For all they know that vial could have been hers.

Go to a general doctor man, tell them your situation and I know, at least if it were my Doc, he would do it.

Again, this case will get thrown out of any court in america. You also can file suit with the DA for bringing charges against you unlawfully and make some quick cash.

If I were you I would ask the police or your lawyer for a police report or some kind of discovery packet.

They could possibly have a lot more on you than just the vials they brought in...that could have been the tip of the ice berg.

Do not belive what the police are telling you. Get the facts yourself...the report or dicovery (which i think you can get if you are indicted) that will tell you what you are up against.

Something just does not add up. This sounds cut and dry but I am sure there is more to it then what we are hearing.

I agree with what's been said regarding a bogus case. Either there is other evidence in the case against you, or the facts are wrong. The DA would not waste time and money with this case.

It is your word against hers. She cannot prove anything with the provided vials. Cops know how a woman will try to fuk you over.

    Update

On the eve of trial, the DA offered to lower the charges to two disorderly conduct ordinance violations. I'll have to pay a fine, but it beats paying my lawyer $300.00 per hour for a bogus trial. My lawyer agreed that the DA had a very weak case, and though he couldn't guarantee it, said he was 99% sure we would not lose. So it came down to the lesser of two evils, and dropping a criminal charge in favor of an ordinance violation.

On another front, the next day my ex-wife found out she has a thyroid disorder. Most likely linked to popping 10 ephedrins at a time (literally) for years.

Now, I've been off the juice for two years, but that's gonna end. Can't wait to see her face when I pack on 20 lbs. "Me? steroids ?, of course not."

another reason why you shouldn't tell girlfriends, friends, neighbors, family, co-workers or anyone you are on gear. I don't tell anyone at all, they can think all they want but I would like to avoid a situation like this if at all possible.

You should have not worried at all, in Illinois poesession of any amount of anabolic steroid is a class B misdomeanor. Even repeat offenses are still class B misdomeanors. The most you could ever get is 6 months in jail, and that is rare.
