can i soak a cotton ball with 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol to swab the top of the vial and the injection site. or is it neccessary to use a prepped alcohol pad. i dont really feel like making a special trip just for alcohol pads.

Nah, the rubbing alcohol will be more than enought to kill about anything. If you really want to be sterile take a lighter and flame the top while it has alcohol. That will kill any bacteria on there, but it may burn up your rubber top if you put to much on there. Oh and never blow on the tops to speed up the evaporation of the alcohol. Actually dont even waft it either. This transmits bacteria from your mouth or in the air to the top of you vial.
