nope, use that size pin all the time. u might want to use a shorter 1.0 pin if ur under 200 lbs.

For me, with oil-based compounds, all sites get pinned with 23g 1' darts.

1.5" is fine if you have double digit bf% or the site is thick enough to take 1.5"...

I prefer 1" tho.
