    Women on DNP?

I'm wondering if it's more dangerous for women to use it, like more likely to develop cataracts or something. How would it affect a women to use 200mg/ED for 2 weeks?

I personally wouldn't advise anyone to take DNP, I tried two cycles of the stuff last year and I developed central serous chorioretinopathy that has not subsided in over 6 months now.

    How much were you taking?

400mg per day for 3 weeks, I will readily admit also that I wasn't faithful in taking my antioxidants like I should have been.

DNP was linked only to cataracts and not to any other eye problems. These cataracts presented with unique and specific properties. I think your CSC was an unfortunate coincidence during your DNP cycle.

It's not clear if the incidence rate is higher in women than in men. We do know that many more women than men were reported as developing cataracts in the 1930's. There were a good 160 case reports in women and only 3 in men. What we don't know is how many women and how many men were taking it. If only a small percentage of the people taking it were men, it may be the exact same incidence rate. What we do know is that well over 100,000 people took the drug. The commonly cited incidence rate for cataracts is 1 in 1000. Your risk can probably be reduced by supplementing with antioxidants. I'd recommend a normal dose of the basics: 500-1000mg vit C/day, 400-1200 IU vit E/day and if you happen to have them, ALA, NAC, and/or quercetin. This is because a rare second order metabolite of DNP is a cataractogenic pro-oxidant. As we can see, the overwhelming majority of people can handle these just fine without developing cataracts. A small percentage, however, is somehow susceptible. Taking antioxdants would theoretically help prevent their formation. This has been shown in animal research. Note that you do not need antioxidants because of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species. his is a common myth. DNP actually limits/eliminates the production of mitochondrial ROS.

No, there's no reason to think that DNP will damage ovaries or cause infertility. Rather, the evidence suggests that DNP has no effect on fertility. Nor does it cause birth defects, though I definitely would not recommend dieting with DNP while pregnant.

As it's not for human use? It's for human use if we appropriate it for human use. Nothing is intended by nature for anything. We decide what things are intended for. DNP was researched and used in humans for half a decade. The powers that be found that medically, the risks didn't outweigh the benefits. This doesn't mean, however, than individuals can't approprite DNP for their own use.

ive got a question. people that are obese are unheathy right? but if u use DNP to become more fit, do the problems with obesity linger? or does DNP only help with cosmetic reasons? (sorry 4 SP)

CSCR fluid usually absorbs gradually over a period of months. In delayed cases steroid and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory eye drops are prescribed, and six months is enough time to warrant such attention. Occasionally, laser treatment may be required to seal the leak and help the vision improve.

really?? if you read up on CSC you'll notice that ion transfer interference is one of the causes, Last I knew DNP interferes with ion transport. Yes it may be coincidence but I don't think so as the syptoms manifested themselves while I was taking the DNP

They've tried all of those things including laser treatment (which did nothing) my vision is getting worse. All I'm saying is I think it was caused by the DNP and I wouldn't advise anyone to take the stuff.
