Thread: injection infected?

  1. #1

    Question injection infected?

First cycle of test-e twice/week injections. I have done 6 injections so far, rotating areas of both outer quadriceps. Using 23 gauge sterile needles, immaculate injection protocol.
I am probably just being paranoid, but I noticed on my right thigh just now a small red bump like a mosquito bite or spider bite. I last injected my right thigh 5 days ago and it went smoothly. I don't even know if this bump is where I injected because the small holes heal up so fast.
Just to be safe, i rubbed it with a sterile alcohol wipe and put neosporin on it and and a band-aid.
It doesn't hurt, just a small reddish bump like a big mosquito bite.
In case it is a small injection-site infection is there anything else I should do, or is the alcohol and neosporin probably enough?
Can't ever be too safe is my motto with injections.

Thanks, I think maybe the injection site got a bit infected superficially just like a scratch might. From now on I will wear a band-aid for a day after injections to make sure it stays clean.

Sometimes if you think you are done injecting, but you are still pushing on the syringe some of the ester my not have came out while pulling out, leaving a bump. It will disipate in a few days or so, no prob.

I wouldn't worry about it but definitely keep an eye on it. If you had an infection with a visible "bump" you would undoubtedly be feeling somewhat ill, as well. Again, it doesn't sound like an infection but its better to be safe than sorry- keep an eye on it. Good luck bro.

If it is a infection it will get worse as days go by. If you notice it getting bigger and spreading and getting hot, start some antibiotics right away. Sometimes regardless of how clean your injection is, shit happens.

false alarm, I think it was a scratch or bugbite.
    Thanks, though.
