buying roids in mexico

I will be taking a trip to Puerto Villarta, Mexico soon and was interested in picking up some gear for myself. My question is two parts - first, is it pretty readily available there? If so, I was wanting to mail it to an address in the states. Do not want to try bringing in home in luggage on the plane. Will it work or are packages checked out closely?
I would love to hear some feedback and advise.
