    How Much Pain?

    My last cycle was in 2001, and I'm getting back up on the horse;

How much pain is normal the morning after an injection? I started my cycle yesterday; swabbed the bottle, the needle, and the injection site with separate alcohol swabs. Aspirated, checked to ensure I didn't hit a vessel, and shot it slowly. I didn't feel a thing when I injected , except of course the slight pressure. I chose my upper right quad. (Seems like during the glute injections back in the day I felt a sharp pain during initial stick, but I didn't feel ANY pain in the quad...weird.)

Anyway I woke up in the middle of the night and my leg was sore as hell. Tender to the touch around injection site and all up and down my quad. It's not really red, or hot; but it hurts like a MOFO to walk on it. I'm limping around like Fred Sanford after a swift kick to the twig n' berries. I have no other symptoms. Basically just feels like someone gave me a dead leg like back in high school, except the pain last longer than a few minutes. (C'mon, don't act like you don't know. You've had a deadleg before.)

When I cycled in the past I always took glute injections, and never had this much pain; at least not that I can remember.

I'm a little worried, but it also doesn't seem like an infection would happen that quick. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet. A hot bath makes it feel better. I haven't tested the theory, but I'd guess a nice sloppy BJ from Scarlett Johanson would make it feel better too.

All jokes aside, my questions are serious. As always I love this board, and appreciate your feedback.

    Your thoughts??

    Thanks bros!

i wouldn't bee too concerned, especially if it's not red and inflammed. shots can hurt. this was your first shot in a while, you could have been tense.... keep an eye on it.... good luck.

My leg feels better now that I'm awake and around. Thats why I'm not laying back down, I woke up twice throughout the night with it throbbing. I was always told to still swab the needle...

It still hurts some but mainly only when I walk. When I was asleep though the pain was waking me up.

Should I still go workout, or should I give myself a break? It's a cardio/ab day for me so not a real intense workout, but I'm sure cardio won't be easy on my bum leg.

    still hurts....

Okay so it's been almost two days since my injection and my leg still hurts like hell. I hobble around on it, and I can't bend my leg all the way at the knee because if I do it feels like someone stabbed me in the thigh with a knife. My bro told me I'll be fine, he thinks I picked a bad injection site. (Upper quad area on front fo leg). He said I could've hit a nerve. I'm getting worried because its pretty painful. Still no redness really, or any other symptoms. Just pain.

How do I know when it's been painful too long, and it's time to seek medical attention?

I feel your pain as well. I am injecting Cyp 300 and Prop 100 and deca 275 EOD.

First day after injection area is soar ans hell. I did my lower front quad saturday worst mistake ever, I can barily bend my knee and walking kills it. When I am home I put a heating pad on it and try to rub the area and strech it out.

This was my 3rd injection this cycle, the first in shoulder and 2nd in glute, both felt same day after ward. Also the area is swollan

but after a few days it starts to go away.

pain is common, I hated doing it in my leg. hopping around, intense pain. Delts were my kinda hot-spot
Got used to it quickly, just a tiny bit harder to inject.

I hear that. Bro, I am definitely switching to the delt. I can handle pain for the most part, I just want to be able to walk normally! (And I wanted to make sure I wouldn't have to have my leg amputated.)

I mean, even if I lost a leg I'd still have two legs....but using my third leg to walk is also painful. I'm sure some of you out there can relate to me on that one.

oh man don't tell him to hit a delt! if he is in that much pain with a quad, a delt will paralyze him. Go in the glute dude.

hillshooter, it seems like a delt would hurt less because I don't have to walk on it.

when I had pain in delt I could barely move my arm. it was easier to mask toward other people since I was not limping.

Yeah, no doubt. That's another problem, people keep asking me what I did to my leg and I'm like ummm, I had a charlie horse the other night and it's been sore ever since.

I'd rather have a really sore arm than not be able to walk.

Then again the glute might be a good place, that was where I injected back in the day.

Why would the substance have anything to do with the pain? Seems like it would have more to do with sticking a pin into a part of your body. Hitting a nerve, moving the pin around, etc.

It's weird how you say that this is your second cycle in this thread, but in this thread you refer to it as your first cycle

Because I haven't done steroids since 2001 (which is why I said my last cycle was in 2001). I am starting again after a 6 year hiatus, so I consider this my first cycle since starting again.

UGL's that use coarser powders usually cause more pain.

if you injected into the outer quadrant (looking down) of you quad then you probably didnt hit a nerve.

dont swab the needle, you hve a greater chance of containating it than if you just opened it fresh and used it. and let the alcohol on your skin dry before injecting.

is this the shot where you used the slin pin? you might want to use a needle designed for IM use.

    prodigal:

Thanks for the advice. I will not use a swab on the needle, I appreciate your input. I only used a 29g because it was all I had access to at the time. I have 23g 3cc 1.5" pins on their way which I am sure are a better choice.

The substance has everything to do with the injection pain. I could jab myself all day with sterile needles and feel hardly anything. It's the viscosity of the liquid being injected that causes the pain. When I was a kid, I had a penicillin injection and it hurt like a biotch, not because of the needle, because of the thickness of the penicillin liquid.

Ahh, I see. But wouldn't a 29g pin be less painful than a 23g pin with the same substance in it?

    25 guage

Try 25 gauge 1.5" pin. I find they are thin enough to hardly feel going in and small enough to force you to inject slowly.
I think everyone is different when it comes to injection sites. I have no problems with glutes and delts. Bi's, and quads were a pain in the, well, bi and quad and I was stupid enough to think that the calf had enough "meat" to not be so bad.... next time I'll just stick a hot poker in my eye.

How much volume are you shooting??

If it's a large shot try breaking it up into smaller shots through out the week at different sites to see which hurt the least..You may be walking around like a pin cushion for a week or two but you'll know what sites are good for you.

Hahaha thanks for the support, muriloninja!

My leg is feeling much better now, still a little tight but not near as sore.

To your question, ducatibob, it was a 1cc injection (Deca 300mg)

I think part of my problem was I injected too fast.
