pin question

Anyone with experience able to tell me how much longer it would take an insulin -pin to inject oil-based gear VS a reg 23 gauge pin?

Is the time difference that great?

you know what, nevermind because the pins are only 1/2 inch long. 1 to 1 1/4 inch pins are my ideal...

...but would 1/2inch pins work for injecting oil into a muscle? Assuming the muscle was a quad, bicep, pec, delt, etc.... basically any much under thin layers of skin/fat.

Would it work alright?

I wouldn't use a 1/2 pin. I never injected in my biceps but I would rather use a longer needle and not go in all the way(if necessary) then use a 1/2 pin. Besides if it's for insulin you will never(or a very very long time) get the oil to draw up, to small, likely ~29 guage. Needles are very easy and most state legal to get, just by the right size and use them.

no way to draw up oil through a insuline pin unless you got a 10hp suction pump hooked to the syringe

oils need to go deep into muscle. 1" needle for intramuscular injections into secondary sites(smaller muscles), 1.5" needle for glutes

SnaX, it is possible. I just did it last week. It took me forever to draw deca into a slin pin. You're much better off with a 23g 3cc, preferably one where you can change out the pin so you can use a different pin to inject after you draw.

pr0digalsun, I didn't see the need to tell him that it hurt because I'm not sure what caused the pain. I am assuming it was more due to the fact that it was virgin muscle, and not the pin size. In fact I would think a 29g needle would hurt less than a 23 because it is a smaller needle.

What size does everyone generally run for the gults? i am debating whether i really awnt to deal wiht a 20 because its so much bigger than what i was using but thats all i have left! Ouch!

LMAO good one, kynet. But don't you like my hair?? It definitely took quite a bit of time, I'd say 3-4 minutes easy. I was tired of waiting on the pins I ordered to come in the mail so I figured I'd use what was available. Needless to say I won't be doing that again. I probably could've gone to some other places but after two stops I was tired of everyone looking at me like I was an addict of some sort; and I didn't want to have to step up to a counter one more time and ask for 3 cc 22 or 23g pins.
