On self trt
I'm 25 years old and I have been suffering from low test levels for over a year. I did a cycle over a year and half ago and have had low test levels ever since I came off. I went to the doctor about 6 months ago and got the 1st blood tests taken...on a scale of 250-1150 it was 285. Then about a month ago I went back to see if they had improved but they said it was still the same. Now the doctor that tested me 6 months ago told me I could do the weekly injections for a replacement but I told him no because I wanted to wait and see if I could bring up my levels naturally. But as of last month, seeing how they were still low, I have kind of decided that I want to get on trt. Now the the newer doctor I went to a month ago said he wants me to get further examination by a urologist to see if it could be anything else. However, the doc wouldn't give me any cialis and told me I just needed to wait (I was having ED) to speak with the urologist to get to the real problem. Now I know that the problem was because of my natural test levels being low so I went ahead and started self trt for now.
Anyways, I went to the urologist thinking that he was just going to prescribe me to trt, but he didn't want to do the injectables (keep in mind I have been on the injectables for a week and a half on my own at 100mgs/wk). So he took some more blood tests of his own and gave me a prescription to the gel for now, he said he didn't want to start me out on the injectables because that would be perminant and he wanted to wait to get his blood test back to see if it could be anything else. So that being my story, I have a few questions: Will the trt already show up in my system or does it take a month or so to raise your levels? If I'm wanting to do the injectables and be monitored instead of self treating, should I go back to the original doctor that told me 6 months ago that he would give me weekly injections and tell him that I have self started but want to be monitored? Also, since I am on the injectables, I should not do the gel correct?
sorry for the long read...just wanted to get my whole story in there so yall could better understand

Dude dont do the gel as well as the injectable as this will just put in more Test than you need. You really should have waited until you saw the Urologist as it could well be some other issue. If you have only been on a week before the blood Test its unlikely to have gone up much but it is possible and if it has you are screwed with the Urologist unless you come clean with what you have done. You are probably better off going back to the first Dr and getting monitored. Estrogen could well be an issue as well and this also needs to be checked.

I see no mention of an aggressive pct attempt. 25 is really young to kiss your testicles goodbye.

Let's take a step back:
have you tried any sort of pct?
have you tried running clomig for 1-2 months to see what happenes, maybe along with arimidex ?
have you tried hcg injections to bring you back to normal?
before jumping on trt at 25 you should try different approaches!!
however if nothing else works and trt is your goal (i doubt it) you have to stop any exogenous testosterone injections or patch for 4-6 weeks and then take your blood work. Only then your levels will be low enough for them to prescribe you trt.

yes your test levels are low, but what do the rest of your values look like (Estradiol, Progesterone, FSH, LH, etc). I would hold off on taking exogenous testosterone , before knowing what the rest of your values look like and get a professionals opinion. When my test levels were low, I had my blood work done and my estradiol levels were really high compared to the test, a simple aromatase inhibitor did the trick for me to get them back to normal

I tried several pct's. clomid and nolva, then the hcg , nolva, aromasin , vitamin e. nothing worked. but ever since I've been on the test...my sex drive is back, my strength is coming back and so is my weight gain....I've gained almost 10 lbs in close to 2 weeks while losing a little bit of belly fat. The trt was what I've wanted to do...I don't mind it at all. The only thing that would worry me is being able to have a kid but the doc said that shouldn't be a problem.

How is having a kid not going to be a problem? Has he explained it to you further than "it won't be a problem." I think it will be a problem unless you have enough cash to do invitro, 20 grand per try and could take more than a few times to make a baby. Mabe they could clone your baby like dolly the sheep by the time you want a baby. I would go to an endo with a good rep., tell him what you did to yourself, and see if he can make you better without TRT.

well I see alot of guys on here and other boards that get there girls pregnant on trt...even on cycle. That is what I have asked 2 of my doctors because that was my main concern with having a kid. And both said it shouldn't be a problem. But what if I want to be on trt? I mean my levels have been low for almost a yr without getting better. I just want to be back to normal.

being on trt deff can lower ur chances of concieving and u dont want the invitro route. my wife and i have to cause i make NO swimmers, well almost none. anyway my 18month old son was 25grand BEFORE he was born.deff look into other avenues before u commit to lifelong trt/hrt.GL!! bro ur test levels r actually higher than mine were, yea im all f**** up!

If your interested in having little one's ask your Endo about HCG . She would stop the TRT and replace with HCG until you concieve, then switch back to TRT. But listen to the advice given about starting at 25.
I started mine 1 yr ago at 32. And that's still probably a little young.

Taken from New York times Health section
Mr. McNutt's first doctor, a urologist, treated him for erectile dysfunction and prescribed a testosterone patch. Mr. McNutt said the medication made him feel somewhat better, but he hadn't known it would make him infertile.
"No one told me that if I used this synthetic testosterone it wouldn't allow me to produce sperm," he said. "I didn't find out for another year. A lot of men may not even go to doctors to find out because it was very embarrassing. The essence of being a man is testosterone, and I didn't have any."
If waiting doesn't work, a patient can sometimes be treated with a series of hormone injections that kick-start the testicles back into action, Dr. Sokol said.
The typical regimen includes a combination of the pituitary hormones LH and FSH, which are the same hormones given to women undergoing in-vitro fertilization. Men usually require two or three injections a week for a year or longer, a cost that can reach several thousand dollars a month.
If a man's sperm count still does not improve after the injections, another procedure may work. Under general anesthesia, a man can have sperm retrieved from his testicles and combined with a woman's egg in the laboratory to create a test-tube baby.
For Mr. McNutt, nearly a year and a half of twice-weekly injections seemed to have done little to improve his sperm count.
I'm not saying TRT is not the answer for you, it very well may be, just make sure you are making the right choice. For someone with your level of knowledge you should surely be under a doctors care on this one as well.

Well, I figured I'd just go to the first doctor that I went to 6 months ago for the blood test and just tell him what I'm doing and just ask him to monitor me. Do yall think he will be mad or tell me no? He can't really do anything but deny to help me right? I'm taking my 3rd shot today, I already feel so much better than I did a month ago. I can go twice a night with my girl when I could barely keep it up for one, my strength is coming back with some extra, appetite is definetly back as well as weight, and I'm not ***ressed anymore. I just thought of all the pros and cons on this and the pros definetily out weighed the cons. I don't mind doing this for the rest of my life...I think if I can handle doing ED shots for 10 weeks then I can handle 1-2 shots a week for the rest of my life. Speaking of that, I'm going to be starting hcg very soon....what dose should I run it at and how often?

There are many options and TRT being the last.
Clomid low dose, AI's, HCG , combinations of both.
You may also have a certain syndrome, where your body finds it difficult to produce one or more ganadotropins. Go and soo an Endo.
TRT at 25 is young.
