I use it sporadically , just one 25mg tab. I use it after a cheating day to ger rid of the salty fluids. It should be taken on empty stomach. I wouldn't reccomend more, and I wouldn't reccommend using it everyday unless you have high bp and you are trying to lower it. In that case I have seen it prescribed ad 25mg eod, but you should keep your potassium intake high...

look I am not an expert on lasix I can only give you the information I have.
It is true that on the directions it is prescribed up to 80 mg/day (and sometimes even more) but ...for whom??
There is also a long list of sides that can occur and maynly low potassium levels (which although doesn't sound that bad in the ends could mean that your heart stops so it is actually pretty serious).
I can tell you that I have seen it prescribed to an old lady with bloated legs and high blood pressure at 25mg eod. (one of the therapeutic uses is actually to treat high bp)
I can also tell you that 25mg on empty stomach have a preatty dramatic effect meaning the following:
you wake up in the morning, and you go pee. Then you pop 25 mg and wait WITHOUT DRINKING ANY WATER AT ALL, in about 1 hour your baldder is FULL and when you go pee again it is like you are pissing out pure water, not a hint of yellow. Then you wait half an hour more, still with no water intake, and you have your baldder full again, and you pee another load of pure water. And that's it. Personally once I tried taking it 3 days in a row and I felt a very wierd dry mouth. I had to drink a lot and guess what, it was one ofe the side effects elencated in the directions...
Also even if you keep drinking a lot of water you are flushing out the electrolites (potassium)..risky...oh.. not to mention that the best effect came pretty much at the first day, and by the third I was only flatter, not more ripped. So again I think you should take it on a regular basis (and by now you will realize why I think eod is more than enough) ONLY if you are trying to lower your bp...otherwise I would stick to a sporadic use...good luck
