Adding a low dose of antidepressants to my PCT for a short while

my cycle will be long - 16 weeks - so I'll be doing an extensive PCT when I'm done - clomid, nolva, proviron, arimidex, tribestan, excite, CEE creatine, the more of everything the better, can't hurt - and I'll keep on taking the liver and kidney supps just like I'm on cycle....

anyaway...I can get like a months worth supply of some sort of low dose antidepressants of ahy kind, but just a months dose, would it be wise to include this in my PCT, since I'm always such a big girl in PCT...? I know they're addictive and fvcked in every way but remember I can only get a months dose or so...if you agree which one would you recommend and at what dose?

    thanks

IMO, all I have seen anti depressants do is make you feel good while you are on them but once you get off they will make you psycho, i have never taken them but I have seen many a people take them...not cool I would not touch that stuff for anything...just MO.

Acute treatment of moderate to severe depression with hypericum extract WS 5570 (St John's Wort): randomised controlled double blind non-inferiority trial versus paroxetine BMJ Online First -

A specially manufactured extract from the herb St John's Wort is at least as effective in treating depression as a commonly prescribed anti-depressant, according to new research published on bmj.com today.

St John's Wort* and the anti-depressant drug Paroxetine** were used in a trial to treat patients with moderate or severe depression. The researchers asked 301 participants of both sexes from German mental health centres to take part in the trial. The two drugs were taken by the patients aged 18-70 over a six week period during 2000 -2003.

At the end of the trial half (61 out of 122) of those who took St John's Wort found their symptoms in decline, whilst only a third (43 out of 122) of those taking Paroxetine went into remission.

Participants also suffered more side-effects by taking Paroxetine with 269 adverse effects being reported over the treatment period. Those taking St John's Wort reported 172 adverse effects - the most common in both cases being stomach disorders.

The authors support the use of St John's Wort as an alternative to treat depression and welcome more research in this area.

    * Clinical name hypericum extract WS 5570
** Paroxetine is a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) drug - a class of anti-depressants

anti deppressents kill my sex drive and in turn makes me more depressed. I was on them for many years and I hated every second of it. IMO its a bad idea.

Either Nolva or Clomid one causes people to be sensitive like this. I don't remember which. I am sure this statement itself will spark someone to reply and correct me. Which ever it is, exclude that from your next PCT or lower the dose and see how you do.

Try aromasin instead of Arimidex in your PCT.

But the big problem with being a girl is that once you are in PCT and your test levels decrease from the injections stopping and natural production being shut down, Estrogen becomes the dominant hormone. This, you are more sensitive and girly than usual.

HCG can also help you get back into production faster as well. But you don't want to abuse it as it can desensitize you and actually delay recovery. I like running HCG through my cycle at 500iu per week just to keep the boys full and stimulated. Then depending on which test I am taking (its usually prop) I take 1000iu on the same day as my last inject.

If I am running prop I just start my PCT 3 days later as recommended. If I am running a long ester Test or Sustanon, I will shoot another 1000iu at the halfway point between the last inject and the start of PCT.

My PCT I tune depending which compounds I run.

Oh for the record, the girly feeling is not depression and in my non-professional opinion do not think an anti-depressant will help. I believe what you are seeing is estrogen being more dominant that testosterone. Depression is often serratonin related. (hence SSRI's for depression)

And I also would not even mess with anti-depressants unless I absolutely had to have them. Espcially in what you are describing, because I don't think its depression.

Anti-depressants don't work like that, you can't us them that way. I'm assuming your talking about a SSRI (selective seratoin reuptake inhibitor). First of all the dosage has to be ramped up and built up over the course of at least a month. Throwing seratoin nurotransmiters out of wack during pct is not nessicarily going to make you feel better. The drugs must be tapered off. They make you hungry for unhealthy food. If you already have adiquate seratoin you won't feel any better. Antidepressants make you lazy/tired. Sounds like nothing you want right?

I think anti-depressants are evil. Most of them have terrible witdrawl symptoms that the docs know nothing about. I know that there are millions of people that say they helped them and thats great but I myself have had nothing but bad experiences with them. Also most take 6-8 weeks to start working so I don't think that if you take anything for just a month that you will see any kind of benefit from them. There are alot of natural remedies for depression including St. Johns wort. It would definately be worth trying. If you decide to try an anti depressant it would probable be best if you start on it about 6 weeks from the end of your cycle so that it should start working just as you start your pct. This is all just my opinion so good luck with whatever you decide.

    Another positive article on steroids!

Oh and of course them being PRESCRIBED anti-depressants for years was not indicative of their mental instability. It was the Roids that caused it. Not their single digit IQ and predispositioned suicidal nature which was probablly the reason they were put on anti-depressants to begin with.

it will take a month or more for the anti to kick in. so don't worry abou it, it's not going to help you.

I take an SSRI (anti depressant). It's great for me, but I had to do alot of trial and error to find one that didn't mess me up. I also agree with the others that it does take too much time for the medicine to build up in your system to be effective and then again for it to be tapered off. I wouldn't suggest it for what you want to use it for. Good luck with the moodiness.

I would advise against this also. Some SSRI/SSNRI can cause a withdrawal of sorts if you just stop taking them. Sexual sides are shitty for some... there are others however that can increase libido in some men, one being Trazodone. As others said, most antidepressants take a while to work... weeks. The serotonin slowly builds in your system due to the reuptake inhibition but again, it takes time!

I started taking trazodone about a week and a half ago to help with sleep/anxiety and so far I'm loving it. Knocks me the fk out!

I took Zoloft for a while. It was weird, I didn't like it so I dropped it. With test I would have huge sex drive, but it would take me forEVER to "complete my task" so to speak. That part was awesome.
