Just a few that I know of:
- Important for proper nervous system function
- Water retention around joints
- Important for proper healthy libido
- Assists in making and maintaining muscular gains
There are many more, and i'm sure someone more well versed can add to this list.

Which is proven fairly well here, with so many users who have commented on how letro has/had crushed their libido.Originally Posted by Atomini
Yeah I was going to mention that. It's funny how alot of unenlightened bodybuilders think estrogen is the absolute enemy and we don't need any of it. A guy at my gym loaded up on letro once just because he thought we didn't need ANY estrogen at all. Should have seen him complaining when his joints killed him in the gym and how he couldn't get it up with his girlfriend anymore.Originally Posted by Lejes

Testosterone and estrogen are both primary sex hormones. It is just that females and males have an opposite ratio because of the other function of these hormones, which is the development of sex characteristics. You still have to have both for proper sexual function.

As well as bone mineralisation, promoting water retention, and several other minor things... I heard it can promote calcuim/phosphorus uptake, iirc...
Not to mention estrogen is used to build muscle also, in combination with testosterone binding to the AR...
