    stay on or get off

I blew out my left shoulder last thursday doing a over head press with 120lb dumbells(personal best). I got a buddy who juices and is a chiropractor and he says to take a week off of lifting. I can still do arms, legs, abs, back with no pain. So should i just not do any chest and shoulder or should i stop lifting for a whole week or so. And im 2 weeks in to a test prop, dbol and tren cycle, do I come off or stay on that.

If you only have to take a week off I say stay on, I wouldn't force it though.

depending on what damage was actually done to your shoulder, a week seems pretty short for it to recover. I hurt mine once and it was a couple months before it was back to normal. hope yours isn't that bad.

Me too. I hurt my shoulder doing Military Press a year ago and to this day I still can't do shoulder presses. Even bench press is a little testy on the wrong day. I would give the presses a good long rest. They can be a long term issue if you're not careful.

I would stay on the cycle.

i'd take the week off completly. why risk injuring something else in the process which is real, possible. a week is no big deal. i took three weeks off for a torn pec and was ready to hang myself.

I dont see a prob with training legs, abs, or arms. But chest and back you should lay off, because they both incorporate shoulders...

How many reps with the 120's? I got the 110's for 5 one time on superdrol. What are you taking to get that strong?

Edit: Oops i see your cycle above.

I hurt my shoulder doing presses once and I could not raise my arm above my head for 6 months. It was difficult but i just adapted my training until I recovered. I can through up the 140s for 6 full reps on incline press, but I dont think that 2 reps on military is probably all I can get on 120s, and I have some rather large shoulders. Im not saying you cant, just that I dont think I can.

I guess it depends on how much damage you did to your shoulder. I'd give it the week off, but if you still have pain after that you might want to stop the cycle. If you stay on, your only gonna get stronger and stress the shoulder more as it's trying to recover.

Im staying on and im lifting carefull. when I decide i can do shoulders again i dont think im gona try to EVER go over 100s again. And why is 120lb over head press that hard to beleive, 1 of my training partners does 130 for sets, n he says he use to be able to do 150

Right after posting this I did reverse tricep pushdowns and messed up my elbow haha sometimes it never ends... On this cycle I seem to miss every 3rd workout due to aches and pains and am starting to lose strength to a bum shoulder and now elbow... Just sharing that it happens to me too because mysery loves company

You have to be careful with injuries, I hurt my shoulder 3 weeks ago doing seated tricep extensions. I took a few days off and played it by feel, and today I felt the tweak coming back. You can stay on cycle sure, but definetly don't agitate an injured muscle group! Good luck on the recovery.
