I cant remember where I've read it, but I'm under the impression a small air bubble is actually preferable in intramuscular injection. If the bubble is in the back of the barrel it helps clear out the syringe completely so minimal gear is wasted. Without the little bubble, it's hard to push ALL of the oil into the muscle. Sure it's just a few drops, but when you are only injecting 1/2 cc or whatever a few drops adds up.
Don't worry about a few bubbles of air unless you are shooting intravenously. Even then it takes several CCs to harm you.
