OK i know its only few pennies...
and i know you dont use a shotneedle more than once too, because its going in to the body etc..but the mixneedle has not been in the body and will not penetrate the body..so there for, is it ok to reuse it just for the mixing after its boiled? isnt the needle sterile after its boiled?

I agree Geeezer, safe its always the best way...thats why im asking!

    Cheers!

why even risk it? boiling it would cost more in energy and water than a new sterile needle would cost.

I heard its ok to boil the needle for the mix but not for the shot, because it would be to painful to shot a reused needle..
    Maybe it was BS then..

Thanks for the answers..now know what to do in future!

As long as its not coming in contact with bodily fluids or anything that isnt sterile, I would not worry.

to make the needle sterile ud have to boil it for 30mins,u could prolly buy a pack of needles for the cost of the energy

Agree with the others, needles are cheap, and sterility is important, if not the most important part of injection.

I use the same needle/syringe for mixing and store it in one of those little disposable plastic containers in about an inch of alchohol when not in use.

i dont even know why theres a discussion. it doesnt matter if the needle goes into the body or not. whatever it touches is going into the body and can f&*k you up. theres no reason at all to reuse a needle. its a worthless idea and should be scrapped immediately. i didnt read the rest of the entrees and im sorry if im repeating but this annoyed me too much to not comment immediately.

no boiling it will not make it sterile, spores can still survive.. Boiling will kill parasites but not bacteria that why you boil water when your camping.. Boiling it can only raise it to 100 C to sterilize it you need 121 C, a pressure cooker would work.. but still cost you more than the needle.. It seems easy to just reuse it and you could probably get away with it and not have any problems but it's not worth risking it in my opinion.

wow.. thanks for all info/comments/knowledge =)

Some is upset and i understand that because its important to use sterile gears.. but there i liv i can not buy the gear in stores like you do in USA (i think) so thats why i dubbelcheck that opertunnities to boil..and if its ok hey why not.. Anyway i found a store on internet who ships gear everywhere, so now this problem solved for me =)

Again, thanks for all info/comments/knowledge =) Cheers!
