    Question about injecting.

I was just reading the how to inject section on spot injections but i am a little unclear on one section.

Aspiration; if the syringe is to be pulled further back after penetration into the skin, wont this draw blood into the syringe?

Also, what is the purpose of aspiration?

You pull back after the injection to make sure you aren't in a vein or blood vessel. You will see what looks like an air bubble when you pull back, not blood. If you hit a vein you will see blood and it won't take much pressure to pull back on the plunger.

When you aspirate , you do NOT want to get blood in the syringe, if you do it right you will get little air bubbles....
the reason you aspirate is so you know you dont hit a vein, if you hit a vein you will get blood in the syringe, and there for you want to re poke

Do you need to pull back hard on the plunger to see the air bubbles or is it more of a delicate thing?

Also, if i do hit a vein and draw up some blood in the syringe, do i need to refill another syringe or is it ok to repoke and inject the juice with a little blood in it?

just repoke with a lil bit of blood in it...however, if you have lots of pins, change the pin for sanitary reasons. I am a sanitary freak. I never want to get an infection. I dunno about other people, but when I pull back and see blod I just change the pin off the syringe and reinject.

same here, you're just re-injecting your own blood. I always make sure to alcohol swab the injection site, so make sure you are still in the cleaned area.

Not real hard, enough to move the plunger back. It's very easy. Pull hard enough to see bubbles. You'll know when you hit something, blood will enter quickly. It's a quick thing. It's ok, but I like to get the blood out so I can see blood enter if the same thing happens again. It makes things easier to see if you get it out which is done very easily by simply injecting it out.
