lol, thats funny i thought i was the only person who ever wondered about that, because it is NEVER mentioned. probably for good reason, the hams are kinda weird for an injection, and people are probably gunna laugh at you and me for even wondering, but we'll see!

    Good one tai...lol

The reason why it is not commonly used is because you will have a greater chance of injuring your sciatic nerve. Although it's a long shot, if hit symptoms can include loss of the muscles of the anterior and lateral compartments of the leg resulting in foot drop. Cutaneous sensation would be lost over the calf and dorsum, sole and lateral side of the foot.

Not wheel chair, you need to wear a special ankle brace for life that keeps your foot from floping around. It limits what you can do though and I wouldn't wish foot drop on anyone.

in all true seriousness... coming from a person who loves injections... and have done them everywhere you can think of (lats, traps, bis, tris, pecs, delts, quads, glutes, and calves)... i will never ever shoot calves again and i certainly feel that the pain from a hamstring inject would be way worse then calves... think about it, have you ever pulled a hammy, think about that but 10 times worse... never shoot calves again and will never think of hamstrings.... IMO

Calves are a bad spot as well, the problem there is the common peroneal nerve.
