    Shot gone bad...

I was doing a shot this morning. I swapped the 20g that i drew with to a 25g. I went in, aspirated and started to inject, but I saw a huge air bubble in the syringe and forgot that I didn't push the oil all the way up! I left it to where I could swap the 20g pin to 25g without getting any oil in it and forgot to push it so the oil came out of the new pin! I shot maybe .5cc before I realized it, so I took it out, swapped the pin and finished up.

Bad mistake. I've done tons of injections and have never done that. Its been about 2 hours, so I think im good...I just wanted to make sure I'm alright. Is there anything I should worry about?

That is fin. I would have just shoot the oil right to the point of pushing air into the muscle. But takeing out and swoping was the best bet as long as you used a new pin.

Its cool I just had like <.1cc of air in the syringe after swapping the needles and didn't push it out. I never though I was going to die or anything...but I know you're supposed to get all the air out. I alway let a drop drip down the pin I just forgot to push the air out this time.. doh..

i always keep an air bubble in the syringe.. it helps push the last .1ml of oil that usually stays in the chamber of the needle out.

Damn, I pushed too hard yesterday on my injection (in a fvcking hurry, cuz I detest needles) and blew the syringe right out of the needle and there was the needle just teetering back and forth and still in. It took a cool head to shove that slippery syringe back on the needle and keep goin.

it'd take ALOT of air.. far more than he could fit in his syringe to cause issues IV

This is one of those tv myths. Like Tai said, it would take a lot of air I.V. to do any harm. Blood returning to the heart goes straight to the lungs and small air bubbles will be diffused out
