Running in a marathon. Can you keep the gains?

Bodybuilding, marathons and AS. Can gains be kept if you eat like mad after a cycle, while training for a marathon? I am an ectomorph. I ate like crazy just to get to 190 lbs. I have 3 months to bulk before my marathon training.

Why would you want to bulk before a marathon?

I don't know crap about marathons, but I'd be surprised if anyone running them seriously weighs more than a buck 75 - if that. You sound confused to me.

Bodybuilding/bulking is my primary goal, but I have to run this marathon. I would hate to lose the gains I have made so far.

I'd have to cut down close to 215 to finish a marathon. I'm 255 now, and that's just too much stress on the knees, calf muscles, ankles and hips. You would never want to bulk for a marathon. I run like 5 miles 3x a week and have run 20+ distances but never in an organized race. It is honestly something I want to do in my life, good luck. Keep you weight low until after the race.

If Bodybuilding/bulking is your primary goal why not just deal with that and do the best you can in the marathon. I mean do you want the body of a marathon runner or a bodybuilder?
