Expired gear : abscess from rancid oil in the ampoule ?

most questions concerning expired gear concern the active
ingredient and its potency.

But what happens to the esther -the oil- , e.g. in testo enathat ?

Can it become rancid in the ampoule and cause an abscess ?

when it is in an amp, it is surrounded totally by glas and is in a vacuum. ( vials may be different).

If there is no light and heat from outside (= storage in
a dark room temperature place), can the oil become rancid ? (like regular oil ,e.g. flexseed oil)

Does anybody know how long the oil is still sterile
after the expiration date ?

Well all I know is if you have say a bottle of say olive oil, You don't have to worry about it going rancid till you open it. I would think ampules would be fine.

olive oil can become rancid unopened, because it is
not in a vacuum and there will come a little bit of air
in it (containing bacteria, spores...).

but I think with ampoules it should different.

Better safe than sorry, buy some new gear. Personally, I wouldn't risk it since you are injecting it.

benzyl alcohol is added as a preservative/antimicrobal agent 1% in pharma gear and up to 5% in ugl gear this kills prevents any micro organisms from contaminating the oil,the oils chosen to make gear have a long natural shelf life anyway like cottonseed,grapeseed and sesame seed up to a year i think when you take into account that benzyl alcohol itself has a shelf life of 18months i would say ugl/homebrew is safe for up to a 18 months from manufacture and pharma 12-18 months past expiration providing its stored in a cool dark place,this is just what id be prepared to take personaly from the research ive done but ppl say they have taken gear 2yrs past expiration with no problems

the ester is very much attatched to the hormone and controll the release times,it wont go rancid but will lose potency after about 2 yrs,oil is the only thing u need to worry about in that respect

this should be moved to the lab for more responses

Id throw it away... In my experience, its not worth the risk of infection, pain, hospital visits, costs, time off work or not in the gym, etc... Get good sterile reputable gear and use it before its expired...
