    Red face Question about Prednisolon

I know an old lady who received Prednisolon at a hospital,
about 6 years ago it was.
The thing is when she could go home she couldn't move at all anymore.
Later she saw an ad in the paper with the question if more people received this at hospital. The outcome was that a couple of hundred people were treated with Prednisolon and they almost all end up in wheelchairs.

Now i have so many questions about it:
    Has anyone heard about this?
    Is this possible?
Can Prednisolon have this input on people?
    Is there a solution?

I am very confused about it all and hoping for some suggestions, info etc.

Prednisolone is chemically related to Hydrocortisone, one of the steroid hormones produced by the adrenal gland (adrenal cortex) which plays a complex role in regulating body functions and without which survival would not be possible. It is a gluco-corticosteroid which has potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. The drug has a long list of possible side effects, but is a extreamly common med. It isn't going to make you any bigger and stronger, so in that you are confused. How long was she on the prendisolon? How long in the hospital? It could have increased the rate of atrophy but put you in a perma wheelchair it would not.

    Thank you for replying!!
Well the thing is i am defenitely not sure how long she received it and in what kind of dose she received it or how much they have giving her.
So basicly what you saying is it wouldn't harm you in that way that a permanent wheelchair is necessary.
