My bloodwork came back today
Nurse (friend of mine) called me to let me know my bloodwork came in today. I can't see the doc till next tuesday. She did let me know though that my cortisol is really high, and my t3 is low. She also said my test looked low. Progesterone, Estrogen, Pregnenolone, Reverse T3 are fine.
So problems are cortisol, t3, and test.
She said that doc would most likely put me on hydrocortisone, and t3.
I've been researching high cortisol and low t3, and they both are factors in me not responding to steroids . Can you people share what you know on this subject?

You have no profile...what are your stats and cycle history?
-------
I'm not a proponent of "Non-Responding"!
Hormones (regardless of type) are internal messengers that deliver very specific signals to diverse systems and tissues. These signals are precisely en- and decoded to work unabated, and when they don't function properly systems fail (e.g. Hypoganadism, low production of testosterone causes libido and erectile dysfunction).
When given exogenously in the proper dosages & timings, with the appropriate duration and raw materials (stimulus, protein and overall calories in the case of steroids ) the receiver MUST adhere. Thus, a flag rises when I see the non-responder thread.
Run the checklist:
- Dosage
- Timing
- Duration
- Protein intake
- Calorie intake
- Garbage calorie avoidance
- Proper stimulus (lifting heavy, effectively, regularly)
If all the above are aligned then it's time to question the legitimacy of your gear.

You seem very sure of this. Research thyroid hormone resistance. The hormone gets into the blood, but due to inadequate cortisol it cannot get into the cells, where thyroid performs its actions.
The steroids are getting into my blood, just not my cells. High cortisol has the same effect as low cortisol. When it is off, it causes receptors to become immune to hormones. I'm having symptoms of hypothyroid, low sex drive, difficulty building muscle, depression. Sound like bs still?

I didn't mean to offend you, and I was obviously unaware of your physical symtoms. Tests are good but can be off, where as the body will clearly delineate its own problems. Once you correct your levels you should be good to go.
Best to you.Last edited by magic32; 10-11-2007 at 08:12 AM.

Okay, sure enough. Low thyroid, High Cortisol. I'm in the second stage of Adrenal Fatigue. I gotta fix my adrenal glands first.
I'm starting the hydrocortisone tommorow, and next week I'll start hydrocortisone/t3.
Right about December when I reach a good homeostasis Im going to try a cycle out.
