T3...the When and How questions

I am taking 50 mcg/day of T3 along with 750 mg of Test/wk for 14 weeks followed by Winnie at 75 mg ED the last 6-8 weeks. SO here are my questions:

When do you notice its effects of T3? How long does it take to notice the effects?

Does it matter when you take it? With food? Empty stomach? Early in the day? Late in the day?

take it on an empty stomach... you can take it either 30min before ur breakfast or before u go to sleep.
Never took T3, only T4 which works optimally after several weeks. im guessing with T3 things are faster

anyone else got some input, comments, etc?

If by “effects” you mean side effects as in to show that it’s working, this is so gradual it’s virtually undetectable, which is why your temp should taken prior to administration. If you mean fat loss this too is gradual, varies with body fat.

No, as long its daily and around the same time.
Gastro environment is irrelevant (empty, full, liquids, etc.), as with most microgram dosed non-stimulants.

Schering's (the manufacturer) administration every week or two by increments of the prescribed starting dosage, which is commensurate to purpose/condition.

some foods can interfere with its absorption, dont remember which... alot of docs told me that.

can anyone else attest to what JasonR is saying about certain foods interfering with absorption?

magic thank you for your reply and the informative link. Im usually taking it right before i workout which is the same time everyday. I wasnt sure if you would "feel" like you are taking T3 (like on clen you get shakes type thing). I was also talking about fat loss, glad to know its gradual as well. So basically it gets better towards the end of a cycle?

So, the whole ramping up thing is unnecessary? Because I remember all these myths that if the dosage is increased too soon too much, you can screw up the thyroid.

I have actually never ramped up the dosage and my thyroid came out fine. I think that rumor was just based on misconception, myth, and conjecture.

thats interesting you point that out cus if you click on the link that magic gave scroll to the bottom and it says to start out at 25 mcg and increase from there...

"Recommended starting dosage is 25 mcg daily. Daily dosage may then be increased by up to 25 mcg every 1 or 2 weeks. Usual maintanance dose is 25-75 mcg daily."

It's obviously more important with lower doses, but even those starting at 25mcgs are supposed to ramp as cited above by Moush.

But rather than take what you believe to be subjective advice, open the link and read what Schering OBJECTIVELY says about THEIR drug! :wg:

I havent found any real evidence of thyroid ever being permanently messed up from T3 use. I have been on Armour Thyroid for two years and tested this by stopping my medication after a year and a half and after a week I tested normal (for me....pre armour thyroid...low normal). Here is a study:

The pattern of thyrotropin secretion was analyzed in seven euthyroid women, before and after withdrawal of long-term thyroid hormone, by serial measurements of thyroid 131l uptake, serum thyroxine, tri-iodothyronine, and thyrotropin concentrations, and the response to thyrotropin-releasing hormone. During exogenous hormone administration, 131l uptake was suppressed, and serum thyrotropin concentrations before and after administration of thyrotropin-releasing hormone were undetectable.
After withdrawal of exogenous hormone, thyrotropin secretory function was transiently impaired, as indicated by undetectable basal thyrotropin concentrations together with absence of response to thyrotropin-releasing hormone, and subsequently by normal values of basal thyrotropin concentration and normal responses to releasing hormone while serum thyroxine and tri-iodothyronine concentrations were subnormal.
