Why the hell does NPP's detection time = 12 months?

All profiles i've read on NPP state the detection time is 12 months. In the light of the fact that it uses such a short ester (which is the reason I am wanting to use NPP instead of Deca), why such a long ass detection time? Is it the nature of Nandrolone itself?

correct, it's not so much due to the Ester or the hormone, but the hormone itself that tends to linger

Tren's is also pretty long for another example. Tren ace still sticks around for awhile even though its a much shorter ester than enanthate....

Another good example of a fairly short acting...but long detected hormone.

So, i've heard about deca causing erectile dysfunction years later in people who have used deca before. I was wondering if this is because of the extremely long acting decanoate ester used. And this is why I am opting for Nandrolone Phenylpropionate instead. Any thoughts on this?

yes, i've never heard of 19nors causing long lasting erectile disfuntions. I've had plenty while on them but after a couple weeks of discontinuation, the problems dissapear....probably just rumors

I wish I could find a post someone made here a while ago I saw about Nandrolone Decanoate giving him longterm ED as well as several other bodybuilders he knows (this is over a period of like 8 years). I'll try searching for that thread/post but I do agree, sounds like a bunch of conjecture to me, but still... that super long decanoate ester scares me.

maybe it caused underlying psychological problems. ED can be caused by mental problems just as often or even more often than physical problems.

In some people it does cuase very long term ED problems, the reason is you are completely shut down when on Deca(any 19nor) and not everyone can "bounce" back, some may never fully recover. For this reason a good PCT is very important. The problem can be further complicated by your psychy.
