    injection pain... hit a nerve?

I was injecting yesterday morning and i drew the test e from an amp with a 22ga needle. then i replaced it with a 25ga and let a little dribble out to lubricate it. it was an injection in my left thigh and the moment it punctured the skin i felt pain. i pulled out and injected into my left deltoid and i must say it was one of the best injections.

    2 questions
    1) For the pain, could it be that the excess on the needle went into the vein because when i looked down, a little blood was coming out and i could somewhat see a vein right in the injection spot.

    2) After the injecitno into my delt, i was rubbing it and i could hear the squishing of the oil in under my skin (not loud but it was dead silent) is this good? could this be because it was heated a little?

    thanks in advanced

where on your leg did you start the injection? And how far did you insert the needle? Also, you should have changed needles once you decided to inject in the shoulder. Thats my on opnion. I don't take chances with infections.

Remember that sensory sensations are in most times closest to skin. I can only guess because I wasn't there for the injection, but you may have been on top of a tendon area. Its best, if you want to inject in the thigh, is higher the better. Make sure u are in the muscle.

I haven't heard of, the sound of liquid squishing under the skin after an injection, and I have injected lots of things. But if what you say is true you may want to make sure your needle is farther in the deltoid muscle and not a subq injection. Warming of the liquid is good not bad and shouldn't have anything to do with the sound.

I used thighs and glutes. Just warm liquid, inject slowly, massage afterwards and rotate sites.. You should do fine. Just chalk it up to experience.

    Good luck...
