Injecting in the toe (Ouch!!!)...
Well, not exactly injecting, but close . . .
About ten minutes ago, I prepped a test shot, using a 20 g. 1" needle to load and switching to a 23 g. 1" needle so dear-old-dad could inject it in my delt.
No sweat . . . After the shot, unscrewed the second needle, dropped the syringe in the trash can, and dropped the two pins in my handy-dandy sharps container.*
Or so I thought, as I stepped out of the closet where I keep the sharps container and straight onto the 20 g. needle, which had fallen out of its protective sheaf and onto the carpet.
Like I said, "Ouch!!!"
No big whoop - some bleeding (and you thought a 20 g. in the ass was painful?), but easily stemmed with some alcohol (to clean it) and a small band-aid.
But I did learn a lesson that I thought would be helpful to pass on: always make sure that when you're carrying a used pin in its protective sheaf to wherever you dispose of it, don't hold it upside-down.
End of lesson. :D

* A sharps container is a small home version of the red plastic needle disposal containers you see in a doctor's office. THey're available in any drug store - usually with the diabetes supplies - and only cost a couple of bucks. I know a lot of people use old coffee cans or supplement containers to dispose of their pins, but I kinda like the sharps containers - it's cool when you watch them fill up, and you can be the first kid on your block to get one!
By the way, for any trivia buffs, it was the middle toe on my left foot. And I just told y'all about it in case anyopne was thinking that I'm too perfect . . . :D
