We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.

MEans that USPS recieved the info that there going to be getting a product to ship out but USPS has not received the product yet.

Once they receive the package it should update showing the package is at a usps shipping location. Then it should update and tell you the expected date you should receive the package and show its location as its shipped to you!

I recently saw a guy with an international pack that showed that until it hit the US for some reason. It just wasn't scanned in I guess. It's fine.

Yeah my package said this before I got it. USPS site had no updates until the day I got it. It said "Status: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" every single day I checked until I got it.

exactly right. I send alot of stuff out of the country and sometimes it doesnt trrack once it leaves

I got stuff from AR and it NEVER showed it even shipped or that USPS got the package, just the info. 5 days later i got my packages and USPS still said they never even go the package yet. They are lame.

Agreed. I've ordered routine stuff and USPS have *never* given me up to date shipping info. In fact I've never seen it show anything other than what you see.

For the record: Priority with Delivery Confirmation isn't supposed to be scanned in at the point of origin, although some still do.
